I worked on another round of client tests for micropub.rocks today. There are now client tests for querying the endpoint, and uploading an image to the Media Endpoint. 

I finished all the client tests for creating posts, and launched them on micropub.rocks today!

I've been feeling like the Webmention page on the IndieWeb wiki doesn't do a very good job of explaining what Webmention does for users, and jumps too quickly into spec details. I would like to be able to direct people at this page when I am talking to them online about what Webmention can do, which often means what I am trying to show them is how Webmention can be used to display comments and other interactions on a website. Today I started to make some incremental improvements.

A couple weeks ago, sknebel asked whether anyone in the #indieweb channel had a chat widget on their website. I used to have a form you could fill out and it would send me an SMS to my candybar phone, and a little while after that I had a prototype of a chat widget that disappeared somewhere along the way. I thought it would be fun to resurrect that idea!

Today I updated the documentation for indieauth.com to include a setup guide for using indieauth.com as your OpenID provider, and added more prominent links to the OpenID and PGP instructions in various places on the site.

On the last telcon of the W3C Social Web Working Group, we voted to request that Micropub move to PR, the next stage of publication within the W3C! This is the second to last step before Micropub becomes a W3C Recommendation!

I just made a few updates to my list of favorite things, and thought I would blog the changes here! All the links are Amazon Affiliate links which helps me out if you buy things based on my recommendations.

Now that I have a basic pattern for supporting edits in Quill, I was able to quickly add support for editing reposts today. It works the same as yesterday's project of supporting edits of "likes", where the main "edit" page detects the "repost-of" property in the post and redirects to the repost interface. Not much else to say about today's project other than that!

Today in Things I Should Have Done Ages Ago... I finally started adding support to Quill for editing posts. I'm going to have to build this out one by one for each post interface Quill supports, so I started with the easiest one, favorites.

I've been putting the finishing touches on my robot that can mix cocktails over the last few weeks.

With Quill's new image uploading UI, I was able to easily add a form field for specifying image alt text. This is a relatively new feature of Micropub, added thanks to a review by the W3C accessibility group.

Today I cleaned up the interface for uploading photos in Quill. It was getting messy, since I had been slowly adding stuff to it, like support for multiple photos, supporting a Media Endpoint, etc. So here's how it works now!

I've been making progress on the Micropub.rocks test suite, but I am concerned about being able to finish it in time to get implementation reports through it. So instead, I published the implementation report template for clients as a text file, similar to how the Webmention reports are submitted.

I track my location continuously using an iOS app I wrote a few years ago. The app is not published on the app store, but it is open source. Today I added a bunch of documentation describing what all the controls in the interface are for.

Now that I have pages showing all posts that use a specific emoji such as 👍, I found myself wanting to be able to click the emoji in my posts to see other posts with that emoji. This is the same as how my autolinked hashtags work, where you can click on any hashtag in a post and see other posts with that hashtag.

The real reason I wrote my Emoji Detector library was for today's project. My website now has URLs that list every post containing specific emoji!

Yesterday, Marty McGuire published an audio version of the IndieWeb "This Week" newsletter, and shared the link in our chat. Aside from being a fantastic production, this also sparked some discussions about Webmentions. His podcast uses a few of of my 100Days songs, which he cites in the description. Since he included a link to my posts about those songs, his podcast now appears as a comment on those pages!

I wanted to find all emoji in a string, including info about them, for my next #100Days project. However I couldn't find a library that does this. The closes I found was iamcal's Emoji conversion library, which can replace emoji in a string with HTML tags, as well as the EmojiOne library which can replace emoji in a string with shortcodes.

This evening, Tantek pointed out to me that while he was logging in to the wiki via IndieAuth.com for the first time on a new computer, there was something a little strange about the IndieAuth.com flow...

I consider my Slack/IRC gateway the best one out there, at least in terms of looking the most native to IRC users. We use this to connect the #indieweb IRC channel with our Slack team, so people can join the same rooms from either Slack or IRC. Often times people don't even realize that other users in IRC are actually connected via the Slack bridge! However, one glaring missing feature was that image uploads from Slack did not come through right. Today, I fixed that!
