Made it to Hannover after a dicey connection in Frankfurt. A 15 minute delay on a 45 minute connection, plus buses from and to the planes leaves exactly 0 minutes. Was last thru the gate. 😅

Made it to Barcelona! I keep trying to say simple words in Spanish, but instead the words keep coming out in German.
I'm having flashbacks to grade school where we switched between German and Spanish lessons every month and I always took a couple days to adjust. -
I just got a notification that I can check in to my flight from Barcelona to Hannover, but I haven't even boarded my flight from Paris to Barcelona yet.
There should be a rule that you can't check in to a flight departing from a city you aren't even in yet. -

Got to see a pretty amazing castle in Prague today! The weather wasn't great, but did walk up the hill and gained a surprising amount of elevation very quickly. This castle is visible from the rest of the city and it looks so far away. But then you can just walk right up to it.

The new eSIM in the iPhone XS has seriously been the best thing to happen to international travel. I just don't have to worry about how/where to get a data SIM anymore, and I have internet immediately when I land.

Seems fitting to be watching an anime about time travel while on the plane back from Japan where I'm traveling back in time.
I'll land in Portland a half hour before I left Tokyo, like the travel never happened! -
Two things that have made getting around #Tokyo extremely easy:
1. Using the eSIM in my iPhone XS to activate a data plan on my phone without having to deal with finding a retail store to buy a real SIM card. Also was surprisingly affordable.
2. Buying a Suica card and transferring it to my iPhone Wallet. The Suica card is used for getting on trains and subways, but also you can pay at vending machines and many retail stores as well! Once you have the card transferred you can top it up via Apple Pay! That means you can get around almost entirely without cash as a tourist!
