It's not something I hear people talking about, so I'll just throw it out there.

    #OpenAI isn't open.
It's received $1 Billion in funding from some of the biggest names in venture capital.

What happens when these investors influence the output of #ChatGPT? How would we know there's a bias?

We should be literally afraid of one company, who owes so much to so many other entities, being seen as a future all-knowing answer source. These VCs will get a return one way or another.
    Aaron Parecki
when I first heard about OpenAI I was like oh cool so it's like open source AI? oh, no it's not open source, but at least the API must be open then? no? I have to sign up for a paid plan? πŸ€”

Poll: Is using "foo" and "bar" in code examples helpful?
    Aaron Parecki
I remember being really confused about what foo and bar meant. It was something I had to learn in addition to learning programming. Similar to back when all the GW-BASIC examples used single-letter variable names and I was like but what if you need more than 26 πŸ€”

Looking at some of my old videos.

Partly proud that they still get views, and that I at least TRIED a few things that I thought would work.

Also spending time right now editing out those things (such as me embedding a "lut sale" for luts that don't exist anymore - sigh)

This is one of the most important aspects of Web 2.0 that web3 advocates have tried to retcon. That generation also started with optimistic creators talking about decentralized, user-owned, open protocols (open standards, even!) that would empower people. Guess how it played out.

What's missing from this photo? πŸ€”πŸ˜…

I got a chance to try out the new @decksaver cover for the #ATEMMiniExtreme and it's a pretty great way to protect the device from dust and wandering cat paws.

I also designed my #pk1stand specifically to make sure the DeckSaver would still fit on top!

Thank you! We should ping @Blackmagic_News support for this probably. Default color profile isn’t great (even for video from camera (too punchy and contrasty).

I don't actually know anything about color profiles on mac. Does that come from blackmagic or apple? how do they get added to my computer? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM πŸ€”

For the past week or so I've been busy painting my studio gear white to better match the rest of the studio look! 😍 Turns out with some spray enamel you can make almost anything bright white! Next I have to decide whether to void my warranty on the two remaining pieces of gear here (one pictured, the other arriving in a couple weeks) and paint those white as well πŸ€”
