It's kind of amazing how fast downtown turns into a post-apocalyptic scene when the power goes out.

While attempting to log in to the firewall at the office to turn on the new Internet service, the server room lights went out. I initially thought it was my fault for typing in the wrong password, then I realized the whole office lost power, then I looked outside and it was the whole block! Parking garage, street lights, other buildings...

Now PGE confirmed the outage http://www.portlandgeneral.com/safety_outages/outages/outage_updates/outage_detail.aspx?county=multnomah and estimates power will be back on in 2 hours. So much for that plan!
