Ug. After I did all those .ics imports 😭
    Aaron Parecki
rookie move. That's why you gotta subscribe to the ics feed instead of import 😉

But for real now I have to decide whether to go the full Mon-Fri (flying in on Sunday which I was really trying to not do this year) or join the OAuth one remotely 😬

Felt spicy this morning when our property management company sent an email telling people not to crowd the (8) racks in the bike room (for a 40 unit building).

The facts that all of our human rights are held up by precedent and not codified laws should be the largest indication this system is a farce.

The other day I added up that a “typical” video takes somewhere between 17 and 20 hours from start to finish.

Very few free products would make that amount of time worth it.

and even then, it's only worth it if the product is something you actually end up using regularly, otherwise it just sits on a shelf I guess?

A free product to make a video!
Sweet, just gonna plan the video, write everything down, spend time shooting the b roll, shoot the talking head, reshoot some stuff, spend a bunch of hours editing the video, shoot the thumbnail, do the SEO, and then we’re done!
    Is it worth it?

Why is it that every time I go to the @NotionHQ app, it's signed out. Such an awful experience. What's everyone using for personal notes that is comparable to Notion?
    Aaron Parecki
Oh hey here's the last time they responded to me about it. It's still the exact same situation as 2 years ago tho https://twitter.com/notionhq/status/1229948659455803394

I've actually had this argument with them a couple times, no luck so far. The worst is when I open Notion on a device when I'm nowhere near wifi and it's like nope nope

Do y'all write SQL any more? 👀 When's the last time you worked in a code base where you wrote raw SQL without the help of an ORM?
    Aaron Parecki
For anything beyond the most basic JOINs I go back to writing raw SQL, otherwise it takes me longer to figure out the obscure ORM syntax to get the right query

Just a reminder that you’re not reviewing a product if you’re getting paid for it. And calling it such is not only a massive disservice and misleading to your viewers - but to all the other reviewers whose jobs you make harder by muddying the waters.
