@anomalily Thanks for the encouragement! If one is already a developer, do you think it'd be redundant? From the description, hard to tell.
    Aaron Parecki
@robynover @anomalily There's certainly a large developer contingent! You may be interested in reading about our approach to introducing #indieweb concepts to different "generations": http://indiewebcamp.com/generations

aaronpk: I just had a crazy idea to create an IRC server emulator that is actually a micropub client and indieweb reader

Hector is a private group chat server for people you trust. It speaks a small subset of the IRC protocol and is written in Ruby with the EventMachine library.

I admit I kind of miss when it was just hand-editing HTML pages uploaded via FTP to make websites.

@pebble I would really love to see the ability for notifications to include custom-defined actions for the three right buttons! For example, a notification arrives that says "would you like to approve this login?" and the top and bottom buttons say "Yes" and "No". Each button has a URL defined that will be requested when the respective button is pressed. This would make for a slick two-factor auth utility among other things, and could even be developed without writing any code that runs on the Pebble!

@final Your website has an SSL cert that is not recognized by my iOS Safari. Not a good way to build confidence.

I've built in some IndieWeb concepts via WordPress plugins, but I worry over privacy complaints when looping FB comments back into the site.
    Aaron Parecki
@JRDSkinner That's a reasonable concern. Right now I only bring back comments from public posts, nothing from private posts. #indieweb

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
