I'm of two minds about this, as a kid who screwed around construction sites 50 years ago. You did provide them with a story to tell. If you had a speaker that said, "Intruder alert. Killer robots activated," it would have been an awesome story.
That will be version 2 -
I just got to scare the crap out of some kids who were climbing around my construction site by triggering a 12v siren from Home Assistant, and watched the whole thing on the remote camera feed! It was oddly satisfying, and I hope they get the message not to come back.

Pumpkin Patch Ride was pretty much the best day ever 🎃 rode over St. John’s & Sauvie Island Bridge twice, hung w a lovely bikey crew & biked home a pumpkin 🧡 thanks so much to @anomalily for leading this really fun ride!

255gb sounds like an enormous thumb drive! That’s like the base level HD for a whole laptop (from some companies…)
It's really not bad, like $20-30 for a 256gb thumb drive from reputable sources. They don't have to be as fast as the SSD in a laptop. -
hah I hadn't really planned on turning it into a service, but now I'm kind of tempted to set up a site where you can log in and buy a USB drive with your Flickr data that I'd ship to you!

I just finished downloading my whole Flickr account to a static website. Now browsing around it is much faster than looking at the same photos on Flickr, and it makes me want to get back to actually organizing my photos again!
After downloading all the different resolutions Flickr has, it turned into 255gb on disk. Not bad, would even fit on a thumb drive.

I’ll talk to DVE store, but there’s a disconnect between the assembly instructions and the parts list. The parts list says only two drop in M4 nuts are provided, but the assembly PDF says extra nuts are provided to install additional accessories.
There should be a separate little bag in the kit with M5*8 screws and two M5 slide-in nuts. We can send that to you if it's missing! Good point that it's missing from the parts list though. -

@aaronpk Just assembled the PK1 Pro Streamer stand for the Atem Mini Extreme ISO. It mentions it comes with replacement bolts to attach the Smallrig 1842 monitor mount, but there are no nuts to screw those bolts into. Nothing mentioned in the instructions.
hmm it should have come with two slide-in nuts for that. Send an email to the store you bought it from and we can fix it!

Since Instagram *still* doesn’t let you put clickable links in posts… I’m looking for a service that replicates the grid with links to anywhere so it’s easy to find the post you were just looking at and tap to go that YouTube video. Any favorites?

I decided to try out NextCloud for this, it mostly works, but has some weird things:

• It's weird that I'm giving people an entire toolset just to be able to look at photos

Hello internet friends!
What is the best way to share a set of photos with a select few people, while being able to add more photos over an extended period of time? Must not rely on creating an account like on iCloud.
I have my own thoughts but I am interested in other ideas!
I decided to try out NextCloud for this, it mostly works, but has some weird things:
