@davidmead Yeah the @ifttt channel is disappointingly limited and leads to hacks like that. I'm sure more apps will develop integrations for it soon tho. In the mean time, with the SDK it's possible to make arbitrary commands for it which is pretty neat! -

@aaronpk Sweet. I talked about this with @jburrows -- I honestly believe that a voice OS evolution is going to be very important, very soon. -
So far, Amazon Echo has been most useful for: 1) setting timers while cooking, 2) turning off the lights after I am in bed, 3) adding things to my grocery list.
Now that the SDK is available in beta, what kind of voice-enabled apps should I make! The prompts are somewhat limiting, basically the below with some variations:
• "Alexa, ask {app name} to {command}"
• "Alexa, launch {app name} and {command}" -
Well this is progress... an in-app browser that shows the address bar and shares system cookies

@aaronpk i found that out a couple of days ago, too. works on my iphone 5s and ios 8.3.
