  • Day 92: Indicating the Audience of Posts #100DaysOfIndieWeb

Sometimes, I've posted content to my website that is directed at a specific group, such as a mailing list or an IRC channel. When viewed on my website, these posts end up looking out of context.

    Hi all,

As discussed on the last call, we've been chipping away at getting more of the Micropub implementation reports to be confirmed with the test suite now that it's complete.

I've made some updates to the implementation report summary to better reflect the current status of the submitted reports. https://micropub.net/implementation-reports/clients/ The main addition is a row at the top noting whether a report was self-reported or confirmed via micropub.rocks. There is also a new column showing the total numbers of *confirmed* implementations of each feature in addition to the existing column showing the total implementations of each feature.

We now have three implementations other than my own that have confirmed their reports with the test suite. Two of them are relatively full-featured clients, the other creates posts so doesn't need to pass any of the update/delete tests. There are at least two implementations (other than my own) of each feature, and all but two features have 2+ implementations confirmed with the test suite.

The current gap in the results is with form-encoded delete requests, since I have not been able to track down one of the implementors to get him to re-submit an updated report. However, I did test his client with the test suite myself and confirmed that it passes those tests.

At this point, I feel comfortable making the transition request, since each feature has been tested against the test suite and has two or more implementations other than my own.

I've created a wiki page with the transition request details here: https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialwg/Micropub_PR

  • Day 91 - Green

Day 91. I don't know why I'm on such a piano kick lately. This one was kind of fun because it's more notes than can be played with two hands, but doesn't totally sound like it.

  • Day 91: Video and Audio for Micropub.rocks tests #100DaysOfIndieWeb

I realized that I had actually made a few of the Micropub.rocks tests more strict than they should have been. There were a few tests about uploading photos, when really the thing they were testing was how to upload files of any sort. The spec even mentions video and audio explicitly, so the test suite should accept those as well.

  • Day 90 - Sixpence

Day 90. The final stretch! Didn't know what I was going to do today, so again I started by playing around on the piano until I hit something that I could use to build off of. After I recorded the piano track, I added a few other instruments on top. The drum track is a mix of my own tracks plus the Logic Pro drummer.

  • Day 90: Person-tags for OwnYourSwarm Checkins #100DaysOfIndieWeb

Today I added support for person-tags and mentioning users to OwnYourSwarm. If you tag someone in your Swarm checkin (e.g. tap the + icon and find them in the list), then it will be converted to a person-tag in the h-entry. In addition, any usernames you mention in the text of your checkin will cause the content to be sent to your Micropub endpoint as HTML, including hyperlinks for the names of people mentioned.

It’s eerie how closely @DreamHost’s noble cause, vision, and mission parallel #IndieWeb principles. We need to figure out how to enable it.

  • Day 89 - Double

Day 89. This is all one take on the piano, with only a little tweaking of the timing and loudness of some notes. I was planning on adding some other instruments to it, but nothing seemed to fit quite right. I ended up adding an echo to the piano with an 1/8 note delay. I only added the echo to the notes on the beat, not on the little runs, because that muddied it up too much.
