I'm about to live test a crazy new feature on my website, right as I'm getting on a plane for 10 hours with no internet. Hopefully I don't break my site with this! With any luck, in a few minutes, you'll be able to visit https://aaronparecki.com/checkins and see my flight status updating live! It should show a map with my plane's location, updating continuously for the next 10 hours.

Dropping .host-meta from WebSub
Does anyone know of any actual *live* implementations of WebSub (or PubSubHubbub, any version) that use the .host-meta method of advertising the hub URL, or any consumers that check for it? I did a bit of looking around at some of the major players and couldn't find any that did. If you know of a publisher or consumer that supports it, please share the URL to it.continue reading... -

Some thoughts on the XRay and jf2 JSON formats
Since beginning the jf2 spec, I've continued developing XRay, and its format has diverged from the original jf2. Tonight I spent a while trying to reconcile the changes to submit a PR to the spec. I was unable to come up with a short PR, and instead got drawn in to thinking about the motivations behind a simpler mf2 JSON format to begin with.continue reading... -
