I think Facebook needs to be broken up AND the entire industry has to be severely regulated. And I’m one of the guys that helped create this industry, so I know what the fuck I’m talking about.

The funny thing about this is that those saved files have a better chance of being around in ten years than the NFTs themselves.

First plot on my #AxiDraw was successful!

This is a sha256 hash of my name, each ring represents 4 characters of the hash.

A hash is a transformation of an arbitrary-sized value into another value of fixed size. Hash functions that are one-way, i.e. cannot be reversed, are the basis of modern cryptography and security on the Internet. Given this image, you wouldn't be able to reverse it to find out the original string, but every time I run the hash on the same string it will output the same value.

Web3 (sic, it's not the web) is currently made up of platforms that are thoroughly centralized using almost entirely proprietary implementations and protocols, made without standards bodies of any sort. I 💕 the idea of the definition in the quoted tweet but this isn't it.

Walled gardens like Facebook (on the web) and app stores (on mobile) weren’t the plan. Web3 will have its own monopolistic failure modes, I’m sure, so it’s worth thinking about what they might be today

My first attempt at computational line art!

This image is a representation of a sha256 hash of an input string, my name. Each ring represents 4 characters of the hash, and is the binary representation of the character's ascii value.

The next step is to load this into my #AxiDraw and plot it on some actual paper!
