I'm spending a part of my quarantine learning After Effects, finally. I'll probably never consider myself an animator, but being able to move things around the way I used to in Flash (and still feel sort of relevant) will be good for me.
    Aaron Parecki
After Effects feels eerily similar to Flash in some ways.

(I have friends who work professionally in animation down here if you want to be connected to them!)

I don't really have much of a budget for this but I will keep that in mind thanks!

I feel the same way all the time! - What have you tried so far, if anything? I feel like the adobe suite is a bit overkill and overcomplicates but there doesn’t seem to be many viable alternatives
    Aaron Parecki
I've done some in Keynote, which works great for relatively simple animations. I've tried learning Apple Motion and Adobe stuff too, I guess I just need practice to be more fluent in them.

I wish I was better at motion graphics. I have this animation in my head for my next video and I don't really have the knowledge or tools to make it come to life.

    What an interesting butterfly effect

Apple wants to preserve your battery life > email clients can’t check in the background > email clients set up servers to store credentials and check email to push notify you of new email > everyone’s email now exposed to huge security vector

It is absolutely wild that even after spending millions on talent and a literal pandemic locking people inside and chaining them to their screens, Mixer picked up 0.2% in a market that grew 99%.

Don't shoot me but I can't figure out how to edit faster with Logic Pro X for audio podcasts than I can with FCPX.
    Aaron Parecki
Dude I edited podcasts in FCPX for years!

The next IETF meeting will be online. It remains to be seen what exactly that means for the schedule, but hopefully with a few extra months of lead time, and lessons learned from the last one, we'll have a good working session. https://www.ietf.org/blog/ietf108-online/

I’d never thought of that 🤯

I just maximize the clip and match it up to make it sound seamless and if it doesn’t work too well I’ll use some b roll to make it less obvious.
    Aaron Parecki
cross dissolves are the secret! You can even sometimes splice two different takes mid-word this way!
