    ✨ It's happening! ✨

This is the year we are finally building the triplex! It only took 4 years of planning and permitting, but construction is finally under way!
    Aaron Parecki
Follow along on YouTube for the details! We just started a weekly podcast to document the process!

@aaronpk Fair enough - that is a strange requirement.

    Aaron Parecki
Probably some sort of anti-spam countermeasure, since it's just another barrier to spammers.

@aaronpk I find this curious, as I have an AppleID which has no payment method, and no phone number. I buy things in the App Store using money from gift cards.

    Aaron Parecki
Yeah it only required I add a payment method when I went to go submit a podcast, but otherwise the account didn't need a payment method in it.

That looks very similar to one that someone sent me an email about doing a review on. I'll see if I can get a hold of it

@aaronpk @denicmarko It’s worse than that static snapshot (curious how you found it).

    See: https://tantek.com/2011/238/b1/many-ways-slice-url-name-pieces#ud

And there’s ~12 years of research & updates pending since.
    Aaron Parecki
When I want to find this post I search "tantek url parts" and that was the top result!

Hey there! Tools like Sonix and ChatGPT are definitely making a big difference in the industry. Have you noticed any other benefits or challenges to using AI in your course creation process? We'd love to hear more about your experience!
    Aaron Parecki
I actually was just talking about this on my livestream yesterday! Here's a link to the part of the stream where I was discussing how I've been using it https://youtu.be/fvYHWO9ORlw?t=5008

@aaronpk Great course! You describe a few techniques that I will explore further after the course. The concept of HTTP Signing is interesting!

Just a minor remark: In "Section 2: Part 1: Security in OAuth 2.0" three exams must be taken. Exam 2 only contains a subset of the questions from Exam 1.πŸ€”

    Aaron Parecki
Oh weird, thanks I'll take a look! Not sure what happened there!

How do I explain how hard it is to maintain the same level of communication skills in three languages that are drastically different - English, Japanese and Russian.

It's not just knowing words, it's also knowing nuances in which situation and how to use them.
    Aaron Parecki
I completely understand, but also you also speak Russian?? I had no idea 😯

@aaronpk Is this course a break down of your book, or contains additional/different content?

    Aaron Parecki
Totally new content than what's in the book! The book content is closer to what's in the first video course, The Nuts & Bolts of OAuth

@aaronpk @oh_that_courtney -- just make sure you check the ChatGPT answers to confirm that while sounding plausible, they are in fact not correct.

You wouldn't want to be embarrassed to find out that there were more correct answers on the test than you thought you had.

    Aaron Parecki
haha yes absolutely. So far I don't think I've used 100% of any of the generated answers, but it's definitely a good starting point!

@aaronpk I’m curious if the choicrs follow the pattern of 4-choice tests I’ve seen: one highly improbable, slightly amusing answer, one obviously wrong if you’re paying attention, one almost correct?

    Aaron Parecki
hmm no not really. It kind of pulls out various phrases from the text and rearranges them in a random order.

I had a feeling ChatGPT might be a good application for this... I just uploaded a transcript from one of my course videos and asked it to create multiple choice questions based on the content. It did a surprisingly good job, and only requires minor editing to get the questions to make sense! This is going to save me a lot of time!
    Aaron Parecki
One of the parts of writing multiple choice questions I find particularly challenging is coming up with wrong answers that sound slightly realistic. The good news is ChatGPT is great at that!

Nice! Have you used their API to incorporate sales from your own site/domain?
    Aaron Parecki
I haven't done that directly but I did hook it up to Shopify, which is like the no-code version of that. https://shop.aaronpk.tv
