Super weird thing I just realized. Because of the Earth's axis tilt, it gets dark in Portland and Auckland *simultaneously* but only in July. This is probably why it's been so hard for me to adjust to local time this trip.

Also, for driving, I'll share an experience. In cities and towns, I found it easy to drive on the left, because all the signs and traffic kept meu honest. It was when I got out to a lonely highway with a simple stripe down the middle that I had trouble. There was nothing to distinguish it from a U.S. back country road, except those idiots a few miles ahead coming at me in my lane...oh, wait...

I've definitely been lurking on the likes. Some people forget that they're public so when I see they keep liking the "praise be to god" posts, it's pretty easy to tell how they feel about it.

I will not be applying to speak, or accept offers to speak at cons in states where they do not respect women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, or human rights in general. It may not be much of an impact, but is the least I can do as an ally to friends & family who have rights stripped away
