@aaronpk is Github the only "external" IndieAuth supported provider right now? Other than email / pgp?

I temporarily edit my Github profile link for different sites right now, which is not ideal.
    Aaron Parecki
If you don't need Micropub support then your best bet is to remove the authorization_endpoint link so that the wiki will let you use any of its own supported options including Twitter.

If you do need Micropub support, then you're stuck with the current situation.

The wiki actually uses https://indielogin.com when you log in, which supports GitHub as well as Twitter and some other options.

If your site says to use indieauth.com then yes, GitHub is the only external authentication provider supported by indieauth.com.

Yeah, theoretically @patdryburgh & I ran some "official" events a couple of times, but going to keep it casual for now.

More about writing & info management than tools although I will demo my Jekyll + IndieKit template https://github.com/bmann/so-simple-indieweb
    Aaron Parecki
Doesn't need to be an "official" event to post there at all! As long as it's vaguely IndieWeb adjacent, that's a great place to post it so more people can find it!

This evening in #Vancouver, come join and work on your writing, blog tinkering, theme twiddling, or any other creative computer activity :)

IndieWeb friendly, I'm happy to do some demos.

Starts at 5:30pm in the @FISSIONcodes amenity room https://talk.fission.codes/t/work-on-your-writing-coworking/431
    Aaron Parecki
Awesome! Feel free to post that to https://events.indieweb.org as well!

oh no, please tell me this help article from Facebook is just way out of date...

    https://www.facebook.com/help/249817848463304

"Why am I being asked to enter my email login information while trying to reset my Facebook password?"

They can't still be doing this, right?
    Aaron Parecki
@Facebook I thought this went away in April last year. Is the help page just a leftover artifact? Might be worth updating it!

I was just asked to remove the "s" in the "https://" link on all my videos because apparently, the tracking link doesn't work? what on earth is that about? any web designers that understand why the "s" would matter?
    Aaron Parecki
that makes no sense. If a web page served from https (like youtube) links to an http link, then the target site *won't* get the URL that the link came from.

who asked this? one of the sites you link to? or some third party?

Hehe, Flamingo suite has two rooms. A bedroom with full bath and then the โ€œlivingโ€ room with couches and chairs. But the best part is that it has a half bath for the living room. ๐Ÿฅณ

We'll be next door to each other then! I just booked the LINQ also for the monorail access. Your room looks... a little fancier than mine ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ok I might have missed CES this year but I'm really going to try and make it to NAB.

Who else is going to head that way this year?
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks for the reminder, I realized I hadn't booked my hotel yet! Just used a bunch of hotel points to book the LINQ which is on the light rail to the convention center, no cabs required!

Apologies for any concern this message may have caused. To be clear, it does *not* mean that your recipes or content will not show in search. As it says, it's a *suggestion* of something you might wish to try or can ignore. It has no impact on your ranking in Google Search....
    Aaron Parecki
This warning email does not say whether this specific property will affect the search placement, so one way to read the email is "add this or you'll be downranked". This email text needs to be cleared up to avoid sending people into a panic when they read this.

So I like tracking myself and Iโ€™m aiming to get more into the habit of doing that versus letting people do whatever their ToS says. https://where-in-the-world-is-jacky-alcine.glitch.me/ is a @Glitch app that uses Nextcloud to figure out where am I within permissible times.

Thereโ€™s a bunch of stuff Iโ€™d like to add to this but for now, this works!

How do I make sure that anything on my personal account gets copied as an "out of office" to my work accounts for coworkers to see? I need to make sure that people don't book meetings when I'm out of office.
    Aaron Parecki
I don't have a *good* solution for this, but I usually do a combination of:

inviting my work account from my personal calendar

manually adding an event called "Busy" to my work calendar
