  • For the past week or so I've been busy painting my studio gear white to better match the rest of the studio look! 😍 Turns out with some spray enamel you can make almost anything bright white! Next I have to decide whether to void my warranty on the two remaining pieces of gear here (one pictured, the other arriving in a couple weeks) and paint those white as well 🤔
  • Assigning colors to Gmail labels really makes my inbox look a lot more fun. I don't know why I didn't do this ages ago.
  • It's 2020 and there are no rules anymore so I put cheese on the *outside* of my grilled cheese sandwich
  • All my HDMI cords are now sorted by length and connector combo (full HDMI, micro, mini) and hung up on the inside of my closet door and this is so much nicer than cramming them into various drawers! Next up: USB

  • Much nicer air today!

  • Went on a bike ride down to the waterfront today. The air isn't all that much worse outside than inside this point especially with an N95 mask, so thought it'd be a fun adventure. It's hard to describe just how bad the air is, but this is what it actually looks like in Portland right now. I know it looks like a cheap Instagram filter but this is pretty much the real color outside.
  • I have now resorted to wearing my N95 mask inside
  • Now you too can watch the AQI inside and outside my house: https://aaronparecki.com/air/
  • Fun Friday night project: set up a PM2.5 sensor inside and hooked it up to my home automation hub, and now have a display on the wall showing the terrible terrible inside and outside AQI

  • I'm going to Mars! So long suckers! 🚀 https://mars.nasa.gov/participate/send-your-name/future/certificate/702345554983

  • New studio space is coming along nicely! Got a rug in there which really helps with the sound, it's not nearly as echoey now. Still need some more sound treatment for the walls but it's progress!
