Fun Friday night project: set up a PM2.5 sensor inside and hooked it up to my home automation hub, and now have a display on the wall showing the terrible terrible inside and outside AQI

@aaronpk I’ve thought about adding this sensor. But I don’t think my inside vs outside would be much different. But after seeing yours I am thinking about it more.

Thanks for the inspiration. I was able to confirm that my box fan + furnace filter solution is fairly effective indoors.

Yeah, the price discrepancy is a little unfortunate. The cost of waiting until the apocalypse hits to buy one I suppose.

Nice! If you're willing to pay $40 for it! It's like $17 on aliexpress if you can wait 3 weeks. $30 on amazon for a little longer.

@aaronpk Which sensor are you using? I'm looking to do something similar before winter (air quality gets hazardous around New Year where I live).

It's the PMS5003 sensor that's in a whole bunch of devices. It'd be a real challenge to make it wearable but that sounds like fun!

We're in an apartment so there's some building wide filtering for the hallway. Keeping all outside doors/windows closed, and running an AC. No special filters tho.

Is the inside AQI so much lower just from keeping the doors / windows closed, or do you have active filtration running?

Which sensor and hub do you have? I've been wanting a wearable sensor that also measures tvoc, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide
