I'm not against decentralized identity, but it's gotta be interoperable. You guys had one job, and unnecessarily inserting blockchains everywhere was not the job!

Most people who make fun of eating tide pods

- Eat zero tide pods

I don't know exactly what kind of brainworm it is that makes most people who are coming into mentions of crytypocurrentseas and NTFS to be So About Them that they mention them in their Twitter bios, but on the plus side it makes them real easy to block.

And people like to hear "regulations" and thing "bah, red tape, making everything slow and expensive" but hang on, a lot of that regulation is there because SOME BANK DID THIS AND IT ENDED BADLY FOR EVERYONE

NTFS are being sold as "supporting artists" which is a lie. The main the NTFS enables is resale of art. Guess what happens when art is resold?

THE ARTIST DOESN'T MAKE ANY MONEY OFF IT, OBVIOUSLY.

I'm not a huge fan of the stock market in the first place, so you can only imagine how I feel about your brilliant idea of "what if we made a new stock market but without oversight or regulation"

Web 3.0 is also known as the World Wide Web. That's why we have the W3C.

Anyone who claims anything is “web 3.0” is definitely lying to you.

They are just fine for the right use. Especially the mint or social media use case.

Oh and Okta, Ping and Auth0 all support revoke lists. In Okta when you revoke a refresh token all active access tokens are also revoked.

So yea, love refresh tokens for some use cases.

Yup, this about sums it up. A lot of centralization (re: tech billionaires) exists because "it's easier, and people want it."

That doesn't mean that it's necessary or desirable.

However, in its current instantiation, most of decentralization a la "web3" is just grift & greed.

My thought on the web3 discussion: there is absolutely something interesting with a lot of positive potential there, but if you buy into a bunch of Techno Utopian ideology that blinds you to the fact that power dynamics exist everywhere, you’re simply repeating past mistakes.

The web 3.0 was already claimed by the RDF semantic web movement. It wasn't correct then, it isn't correct now.
