This is my biggest criticism about the way many sites are using SPAs today: I do most of my browsing on my phone where I follow a link to a page, wait for it to load (with a cold cache), spend a minute or two reading it and then leave - often with no in-site navigation at all

As you think about stack/framework choice, keep session depth front-and-center. SPA tech weight can only be justified through *high interaction amortization*.

It seems having a YT video as “members only” then releasing it public is a BAD strategy. It feels like it’s being treated like a week old video with the few members views it had, instead of a new video.

You’d think in The Year of Our Technology, Two Thousand and Twenty One, I wouldn’t have to keep Mail, Apple Messages, twitter, Discord, Slack, Telegram, and WhatsApp open and piled on top of each other just to keep communication flowing. Is there an app that hosts apps? Ugh.

The weird expectation in the Tech community is that you should be an empty vessel that just provides specs, data, AND NONE OF YOU.

If you want that, go to a blog and look at a chart. lol

PSA; a troubleshooting tip: If you can’t figure something out, start writing an email with screenshots explaining what you tried and what you expected vs what you are experiencing… 9/10 times you’ll find the solution while explaining in detail what the problem is.

Batteries are where I started! I needed something that could last 3 days for PG&E outages. The battery tech is just not there (would have been very expensive). So I got a generator. The solar is grid-tied and is purely to zero out my yearly power usage, not a backup to the grid.
