I just read the GitPub 0.1 draft, which was the only actual text I could find. I feel I'd prefer if everything it does were instead via some lightweight microformat annotations in the HTML that all these web-based repository browsers are producing anyway, plus WebMention for signaling between sites. A good start would be @joeyh's https://joeyh.name/rfc/rel-vcs/ spec…

Feeling really good going over these attendee survey results… A startling *100%* of Donut.js attendees answered “Yes” when asked “Did you eat, see, or at least have a vague notion of the existence of donuts at the event?”

@kevinmarks @waxpancake @wisemana I always liked Ben Robert's implementation of http://ben.thatmustbe.us which just redirects to a different Ben's website every time you load it. Almost like a centralized webring of Bens.

  • In other Slack news this week, they moved their blog from Medium to their own domain name, powered by WordPress VIP. Because they had medium.com URLs before, none of their old posts redirect. At least they’ve got things future-proof now.

The #indieweb movement (which I love and support) gets marginalized by this 'only makes sense if it's a viable company' metric. Early internet was crazy, I get it (Aristotle/Gopher/Web/etc) these things are never easy. Just surprised so few WANT something more open

We’re finally finished removing jQuery from http://GitHub.com frontend. What did we replace it with? No framework whatsoever:

    • querySelectorAll,
    • fetch for ajax,
    • delegated-events for event handling,
    • polyfills for standard DOM stuff,
    • CustomElements on the rise.

However, I was constantly adjusting the volume between podcasts. Here is a good introduction to Loudness Units relative to Full Scale aka LUFS, which Auphonic can set for you, btw.

Today I improved the flow when logging in from micropub clients to Ekster. Now you continue with the Indieauth when you aren't logged in. Also now the app name and logo are shown when you login with a Micropub client. https://p83.nl/p/813

Another one that is highly confusing, is when someone typos "not" instead of "now" (and vice versa). Ex: "We can not access v2 of the API."

That's led to some very misunderstood conversations...
