I write my slides in Markdown and have Reveal.JS make them look fancy: https://revealjs.com/markdown/
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah these things are definitely nice, but I should have clarified, I can't change the way I create the slides, I just want to be able to display PDFs on my site that way it doesn't matter how I created them

As I‘m a huge #Markdown fan: there a loads of tools that convert Markdown into slides (of all formats). Plus, Markdown always goes to HTML (and PDF, and MS DOC, and RTF, and …). Maybe start here? https://gist.github.com/johnloy/27dd124ad40e210e91c70dd1c24ac8c8

  • Smart contracts without blockchains | by Paul Frazee | Jan, 2022 | Medium (paulfrazee.medium.com)
"Problem is, I think users tend to think “globally.” They expect all activity within a space or context to be visible to them. If a search for some user can return nothing because the subject is outside your local social graph, then your technology is less useful than other search models. This is why we tend to pool around well-maintained global indexes to give reliable results, but then you have centralized authority emerging."

OAuth is an excellent alternative to OpenID. If you find yourself in the need of an authentication system for your app, consider it.

Wow. No matter how far down i scroll, I can’t find a Twitter space that interests me. It’s all sports and NFTs.
At feature launch there was far more variety… another form of carcinization?
    Aaron Parecki
I didn't know you could scroll thru twitter spaces, I only ever see them when they pop up at the top of my Twitter Home Screen 😅

In case you missed it, I posted a video with my 10 favorite tech/video purchases from 2021 on my YouTube!

I included only things that I actually bought myself, not including anything that was sent to me to review. I did get to review a lot of great gear too but that will be for another video.

Here's to another year of livestreams and video production!

Latest toy, runs Linux, weighs 24kb and is the size of a TV with much less resolution. Writing bash scripts that make loud clicky noises is fun. Recommended.
    Aaron Parecki
I didn't realize you could get access to the Linux system on it... I've just been interacting with mine through their API. How'd you manage that?

I believe @aaronpk was looking at something similar and got one a while ago!
    Aaron Parecki
I did! I found some very excellent plans for a DIY one, but the cost for the parts for the DIY version ended up being 3-4x the cost of this one! Not to mention it would also be approximately a million additional hours of work. So I bought that and it's been fantastic.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
