As I have continued to say, none of us can ever seem to predict the next thing Blackmagic is going to do. Apparently they turned their HDMI monitor/recorder into a USB capture card 🤯 https://twitter.com/blackmagic_news/status/1331463797614145538

hey awesome mail client devs. I would love to use your product but I don’t trust you yet. Let me give your app a readonly OAuth token to try your product and if I like my experience I may grant you write access. #firstdate #progressiveconsent #ciam

For the past week or so I've been busy painting my studio gear white to better match the rest of the studio look! 😍 Turns out with some spray enamel you can make almost anything bright white! Next I have to decide whether to void my warranty on the two remaining pieces of gear here (one pictured, the other arriving in a couple weeks) and paint those white as well 🤔

@aaronpk i found you on youtube while messing with my atem mini and now you're popping up everywhere for oauth stuff i'm working on. very cool! 👍
    Aaron Parecki
haha thanks! Not traveling for workshops this year has meant I've had a lot more time to make video content both for oauth and livestreaming stuff!

I'll email them too, I'm having a problem with the Kindle version and need to sort that out anyway.

@Luludotcom I guess you will not provide me with the download link to my purchase of @aaronpk book OAuth 2.0 simplified. Hope you spend my money well.

What's wrong? Did something go wrong with the checkout process? I can try to take a look.

Hi @aaronpk, what credentials should the RS use for the token introspection with the AS? These Okta blog posts on the CC flow all seem to use the client credentials. But isn't this bad?

Usually you'll create a new set of client credentials that represents the resource server, since the OAuth client shouldn't be introspecting tokens. There isn't really any other form of authentication for the API so it's kind of an overloading of the term "client credentials"

And I don’t think that means you have to “wing it” completely but taking people on the journey of discovery with you definitely follows more of the classic story arc when you hit an obstacle and overcome etc

I was talking about this with @jakesloaninak the other day.. it seems like people like the feeling of going on the adventure / discovering stuff with you, instead of being talked at with a script.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
