I wasn't thrilled about FaceID when it launched, but the other features of the XS were worth it since I was upgrading from the 6S.

Aperture was one of my favorite apps. They should have kept it going.

I miss Aperture so much! It took me a while but I decided to go all in on Aperture. A few months later they dropped it. 😣

Took three hours to:
get my laptop to tell Home Assistant that I’m around via MQTT

reconfigure my lighting automation to take it into consideration

Bonus:
got some info on screen locking state and idle time to help adjusting lighting info

I’m interested in improving the image quality for my video calls. Sadly, no one seems to make a truly high-end webcam. The alternative seems to be mirrorless cameras and HDMI capture devices. Am I missing something?

Seems like there might be suddenly a market for a USB camera with a nice lens.

There are however high end webcams that are used in offices, but they tend to be $2k or more which is not exactly a home user price point.
