I'd love to see a movie about Tarantino coding an OAUTH client.

Don't mind me, I'm just experimenting with something at this coffee shop... Love having a slider that's small enough for my backpack and isn't too much to bust out in a coffee shop.

    Video coming soon!

Is there any kind of JS+PHP "standard" for doing auth without ever sending any kind of replayable credential to the server? Something like a SCRAM conversation? Been thinking about ways of never allowing servers to see a plaintext password, and thus be unable to be compromised.
    Aaron Parecki
This sounds like exactly what WebAuthn is for, and even better, it's already implemented in browsers and available as a JS API!

I haven't found a digital planner that can properly deal with how often I hop timezones. Sometimes you just have to stick to paper. Most planners are so big that I don't want to take them with me, so I'm very happy I found this stick planner in Japan!

Finally I have a planner that I'll actually toss in my travel bag!

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
