    1/ (a thread) Early childhood educators… I need your help. My kindergartener is doing online school and his teacher just wrote “spider” as “spidr”. When he pointed out that was wrong, she explained that in kindergarten this is how we spell; just using letters we actually hear.

    WTAF? Regardless of whether this is a better method of teaching, if a kid skips ahead to spell words the real way, why should they be told to go back a step and spell them wrong first??
