‪I had a chance to try out a new livestreaming switcher! The YoloBox is super cool, it has two HDMI inputs and a USB webcam input and it can livestream over WiFi or even a cellular network! More details in my latest video! https://youtu.be/2N-6ziSg9nA‬

Is it WhatsApp or is it iOS that kills video calls once you background the app? I’ve been having a lot of sporadically dropped calls with WhatsApp solely with iOS users (and degraded video quality).

    Aaron Parecki
Probly whatsapp not using iOS APIs properly. I can have Zoom calls in the background for a long time

RSS feeds require you to opt in to view them.

A better comparison would be if any website could send you push notifications just because you visited.

You're describing a possible UA behavior, not the proposed standard.
    Aaron Parecki
Have you read the explainer? Given who proposed it and their description of how they plan to use it this seems like a fair statement.

Feature request for all video conferencing apps: add an "echo test" button so people can test whether they're about to cause a massive echo when joining a call.

In the case at hand, the echo cancellation is too slow, as the CPU is overloaded.
    Aaron Parecki
Frankly I'm amazed that level of aggressive echo cancellation works at all!

Listening in to OAuth experts for the last 3 days at #osw2020 has been great and pretty humbling!

My main conclusion: use proven products and libraries from experts in the field, or you‘ll most likely get it wrong!

Thx also for the organization! Really awesome virtual event!

The absolutely varied advice I get from “experts” on how to configure bcrypt, scrypt and Argon2 is eternally frustrating. I’m getting ready to start recommending plaintext password storage if “crypto experts” cannot agree on standard configurations! :)

Why can’t Sony just put the video files in the root folder?

It’s so weird going into “PRIVATE > MP4ROOT > CLIP”

Not intuitive to first time users and annoying for professionals.
