US Indiewebbers - My partner and I are three weeks away from a big adventure travelling down the west coast by train. We are staying in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Yosemite and Las Vegas. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for good bars, restaurants, galleries, sights, sounds? 2017-02-24T09:30:44+00:00 holiday america indieweb

hmmm, this looks promising. Did you develop your own comments system to use this?
    Aaron Parecki
@stefanbc Kind of. Every comment was first posted on someone else's blog, then my site is notified and parses the comment from there.

are there any mainstream uses of it in the wild?
    Aaron Parecki
@johnonolan @stefanbc https://withknown.com has built-in support, and http://micro.blog likely will as well. Lots of other small sites too

Removing A to avoid spamming him. I hadn’t heard of Vouch before. That’s actually very compelling!
    Aaron Parecki
@johnonolan Vouch is much less widely implemented at the moment, but I'm excited to see it grow. Also excited for https://indieweb.org/private-webmention

  • Day 66 - Sweep

Day 66. Tried two new things today. First time attempting something in the "electro swing" style. I have a long ways to go to even approach sounding like Parov Stelar though. I also learned how to make the sweep sound that is in a bunch of this as well as other style music. The sweep sound is a white noise generator run through a filter whose cutoff frequency changing creates the sweep effect.

are you involved w/ the webmention/vouch working groups?
    Aaron Parecki
@johnonolan Yep! I'm the editor of the Webmention spec at the W3C group. We're working on some fun stuff over there!

spec in flagship OSS projects something that you ever do? Asking for a friend
    Aaron Parecki
@johnonolan As far as W3C, ideally everything in a spec has already been implemented by at least 2 ppl before it becomes part of the spec. Me personally, I've written a handful of libraries and OSS projects that use these specs, always for tools I use myself.

    Day 32: new repost policy

    Aaron Parecki
This seems like a reasonable approach for reposting articles. I haven't actually found myself wanting to repost whole articles yet. I usually either bookmark them and include a blockquote from them, or post a short sentence from the article and link to it. You should add your examples here! https://indieweb.org/repost

.@dudeluna @BikeIndex there's a chunk of spectrum (close to 900mhz) unlicensed that this uses. Didn't get that granular in article :)
    Aaron Parecki
@stolenbikereg @bikeindex I was looking for this info but didn't see it on their site. How did you find out the frequency? Great review!

  • Day 66: Nicer UI for Uploading Photos in Quill #100DaysOfIndieWeb

Today I cleaned up the interface for uploading photos in Quill. It was getting messy, since I had been slowly adding stuff to it, like support for multiple photos, supporting a Media Endpoint, etc. So here's how it works now!
