We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

I've found no one cares so long as its not 360p.
    Aaron Parecki
You wouldn't believe the number of comments I get on my livestreams saying "why is your video so blurry today is your camera out of focus" and then 2 minutes later they come back with "oh my YouTube player switched to 360p all good"

  • πŸ”΄ Live Q&A! Back to the basics - livestreaming with an ATEM Mini Pro

I'm back from New Zealand, back in the studio today, BUT I had to tear up my studio again for a project this week! I packed up all the cameras and cables and moved all the furniture around. So instead of any of my normal gear, I have a temporary setup with an ATEM Mini Pro, two cameras, an iPad and my computer!

So I think it’s a decent question to ask whether settling Mars really reduces existential risk or not. More on that below. But 1st I gotta ask whether Mars-skeptics have actually run economics models on it or not. I have, and AFAICT it will not be that hard to settle Mars. 🧡 1/n

We're riffing on that "they're an x" meme at work and it is very funny that my "they're a 2.7 but they're python" joke is performing better than "they're an 11 but there's an off by one error" joke.

looks like discord is testing a per-server subscription thing, as in, the subscription fee goes to the server owner

discord access is a hugely popular (but clunky) patreon reward so this is kind of a genius move??
