This whole article about stadium bathrooms is surprisingly interesting, but the best line is uncontested: “‘You don’t really buy beer, you just rent it, right?’” http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25894368/inside-taboo-bizarre-revealing-world-stadium-bathrooms-super-bowl-liii-nfl-2018

I sold a washer/dryer on Facebook Marketplace, and now it's showing me new listings for washer/dryers. Glad to see the algorithm hard at work here.

if you claim your tokens were stolen but the blockchain says otherwise, i have to assume you're a malicious actor who's lying. that's trustless babee

um, stolen? what do you mean? they changed hands via a legitimate transaction. it's all recorded on the blockchain, which is 100% secure and immutable and trustless. where did "stolen" come into it? hundreds of people simply decided to transfer their tokens simultaneously

A single malicious signature can rug *all* of your approved OpenSea NFTs. No need to sign an individual sell order for each one, as originally assumed.

This is how today's hacker stole 10 Azukis, 8 mfers, and 3 mutant apes in a single transaction, with a single sig.

There are simplifications you’ve been told (“sign this to approve the sale of 1 NFT”) that are actually dangerously broad (“sign this to trust the other person to take only 1 NFT”). A clever person noticed the difference & violated the trust. A better system would prevent this.

I work in software security and unfortunately my experience is “most people will be unable to understand or spot these traps”. Fall back on your human instincts - if you’re feeling greedy, scared, or a rush of excitement, stop and think. Those are a good sign you’re being conned.

What i'm hearing is that information is not reliable simply because it is on a blockchain, which would seem to be a rather large problem for the entire concept

I mean it's not funny that the average user is getting scammed like that, but it is funny that the people running the scam got scammed themselves
