Predicting the future is hard to do. Obsessing over the details of building it is what matters.

    What a good question!

I don't know if I *need* anything as old as 10 years, but I nevertheless keep backups of all old accounts. My preferred tool these days is "offlineimap" which makes it easy to keep email on file.

The number of transistors in the original ARM1 chip is small enough that you can simulate the chip in your browser and see the individual transistors operating as it executes instructions. Try it out! http://www.visual6502.org/sim/varm/armgl.html

This probably isn't for everyone but I purge everything older than 7 years, and I've stopped using labels altogether. It's either in my inbox, or archived and I search for it. Actually I do still have one label, for @idpro_org.
    Aaron Parecki
At this point my main use of labels is the auto labeling rules I set up so that my inbox is color coded based on the project

Hypothetically, if you wanted to keep them but didn’t want them cluttering your primary Gmail you could dump them into a new Gmail account.
    Aaron Parecki
That's something I hadn't considered... like forwarding them all? Or is there some way to move them between accounts that I don't know.

I'm seeing a lot of weird push back on folks buying the new MacBooks.

    Businesses need tools right?

I assume you dont run up to your mechanic and berate them for buying an expensive lift when you take your car in for service?
    Aaron Parecki
Apple sells them as lifestyle purchases, so I think what people are actually upset about is that someone else gets to buy that lifestyle that isn't them.

I can’t get over the fact that the U.S. Congress is so dysfunctional when it comes to passing laws that Visa and MasterCard are the de facto regulators of the internet porn industry.

Yeah, I hear you. And to be clear, if someone has the money to spend and wants one of them, more power to them. That's awesome. It just ZERO sense for ME to put that money down on a computer, right now.

and like you said, when I think $4000, I think more lenses.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah for sure, I have no issue with people buying them! If I hadn't bought this M1 Air in June I probably would be buying one right now.

With the amount of creators purchasing the new $4000 Macs, I need to either:

    1. limit my expenses per month.
    2. up my YouTube game.
    3. Call my credit card company and up my limit.
    4. Ponder how much lucrative illegality is worth it 😂
    Aaron Parecki
That's the same config I was looking at, and could not bring myself to do it. I just keep thinking about all the other things I could buy with $4000, like a 32x32 SDI matrix, or 10 Lumix G7 cameras, or...
