Doesnโ€™t help you get to San Diego any faster though.

Not like we can travel right now anyway. tbh if they made a flight simulator which was just waiting in a boarding line and sitting in planes I'd play the crap out of that right now.

In general, everything would be better if we turned it over to the engineers.

    Three thingsโ€”

    1. "Retweets with comments" is changing to "Quote Tweets"

    2. Quote Tweets will appear right next to Retweets

    3. The mask goes over your nose

Thereโ€™s ongoing costs, too. You canโ€™t just /keep/ a pilotโ€™s license. You have to use it. If you donโ€™t fly a minimum number of hours a year, you lose it. So youโ€™ll have to rent planes.

Lots of pilots sell โ€œat costโ€ trips to travelers to fund their hours.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah that's why I'm thinking this simulator idea isn't so far fetched ๐Ÿ˜‰

I installed a kitchen faucet that can connect to Alexa (โ€œAlexa, ask <brand> to dispense 1 cup hot waterโ€). The problem is that when the faucet is running, Alexa canโ€™t hear me to tell it to turn off. Well thatโ€™s one problem, actual utility is another. Also, no timer.

How did you master an ATEM mixer if it wasn't for doing the hours of practical work?
    Aaron Parecki
Say that gives me an idea... ATEM Simulator... you have to live switch an event and you lose points for every cut you mess up ๐Ÿ˜‚

Why just settle for a tool that allows you to live in a room, rather than go explore the real world? Simulators have their place, especially in ground-school applications to explain flight concepts to newbies and re-qualifying pilots.
    Aaron Parecki
Because I've always wanted to fly a plane but that seems like a terrible idea for a number of reasons

At least with a flight simulator rig, you can sell it if you lose interest in it.

According to The Internet, it costs about $10,000 total to get a pilot's license. That means I can spend $10,000 on building a flight simulator rig instead, right?

With @CenturyLink causing outages at @Cloudflare, @Imperva, @OpenDNS, @Duosec, and others: Remember the biggest advantage of cloud services is that you have someone else to blame for the problem. Happy Sunday Morning all. @Hulu may be down to. You may have to talk to each other.
