What’s awesome? I still don’t get why I should be adding a third party (same dependency pb as Disqus) when my blog handles trackbacks alone.
There's nothing third party about the webmention spec! There are some services that will collect webmentions for you, but you can also receive them directly yourself! -

Reading about #webmentions… the 2d “famous” post I stumble across is an ode to spam: https://adactio.com/journal/6469
