    @aaronpk hm that looks like a lot of plastic, wouldn't it be easier just to freeze them in a reusable container?

    Aaron Parecki
    Reusable containers aren't air tight enough to keep the food good for more than a few weeks. Freezer burn and moisture turning into ice buildup. These are air tight and most of the air is removed so the food lasts a lot longer. Plus I can re-seal them a couple times too.

    It sounds weird, but the ingredients include: silken tofu, oat flour, chickpea flour, and bananas. To serve, I microwave some frozen berries with corn starch and it turns into a tasty sauce.
    Aaron Parecki
    While the waffles were waffling, I was also making a gallon of habanero hot sauce. I ran out of time to put it into bottles tonight, so no photo of that, but that's tomorrow's project!

    Tonight was batch cooking night. Just made ~50 high-protein vegan waffles and then vacuum packed them. Five minutes in the air fryer is a nice quick breakfast later!

    Commenting on this to remind myself not to book this hotel again. They ran out of hot water at the end of the day, and there was still no hot water by 6am the next morning.

    I decided I would appreciate being home at 9:30am instead of 5pm more than I will be annoyed at having to wake up at 4:30am, so I changed my flight home to the early flight. Hope I don't oversleep! #travel

    @aaronpk That building reminds me of one I used to work in, in Bellevue, Washington in 1995.

    Aaron Parecki
    Is it the same building??

    @aaronpk
    As @cjk said, ganz is even smaller.

    Aaron Parecki
    In that case wouldn't it be:

    klein, sehr klein, ganz klein

    small, very small, embodying the concept of smallness

    @aaronpk
    I might not know about nuances in the English language, but "ganz klein" means "very little". "Quite small" could also work.

    "Completely small" would be "total klein" or "völlig klein".

    Aaron Parecki
    ok thanks, so definitely not the "completely" meaning then.

    So when would you use "sehr klein" instead of "ganz klein"?

    @aaronpk I find the same result by making a batch of stew or chili, which I am apparently unable to do at reasonably small scale. I suppose I should buy a small pressure cooker, but it feels like the same effort to make a vat's worth at a time.

    Aaron Parecki
    It's about two weeks from chili season! I can't wait to make a big batch in the instant pot!

    @aaronpk You plan to eat the same stuff for a week? Isn't that boring over time?
    Aaron Parecki
    I also have a really busy week coming up and I'd really like to not have to think about what I'm going to eat

    @aaronpk oh goodness. I stayed at one of those in Redwood City. I heard rats in the walls, and someone tried to break into my laptop when I wasn't there (the hotel claimed the cleaning lady thought someone had left something in the room so went through my stuff - according to the police report)

    Aaron Parecki
    lol oh gosh. Well I haven't left my room since I got here and I'm not leaving until I check out in the morning. The small benefits of a one night stay.

    @aaronpk Ugh!

    I used to have to hassle the corporate travel system, to get them to allow me to stay in a cute chalet-style Inn in Switzerland that was a quarter of the price of the shitty business hotel that they wanted to put me in in Geneva for the whole weekend.

    Aaron Parecki
    Yeah if this was more than a one night stay, or if I were doing this regularly, I would make a better plan

    @aaronpk next time, check out the coastside. Pacifica to Half Moon Bay. Hotels are a little cheaper, and there’re some good Airbnb. :-)

    Aaron Parecki
    Not during DreamForce 👀

    Also I have to use the company portal to book hotels. There are only 2 options showing up, which I could have done, but also would have added $100 in Lyft rides

    Reconsidering my car

    Aaron Parecki
    This kind of post is such a good reminder that I should not be mad at the occasional $8 bike rental or $30 Lyft ride every month or two. I can't even comprehend spending $800 every month! I could buy so many burritos for that much!
