Gumroad's price increase will take effect in 5 days! 😰 @gumroad
Are you staying or moving? If you're moving, where to & why?

If you're still looking for a Gumroad alternative, I'd love to personally onboard you to @typedreamHQ products! https://buff.ly/3WWPZVa
    Aaron Parecki
I'd be interested in trying it out it it can support digital downloads with file sizes up to 8gb each. So far Gumroad is the only one I've found that lets me host files that big without a monthly fee.

@aaronpk it’s very odd since I believe their devices like firetv have this sort of flow implemented. So they know how just for some reason don’t do it?

    Aaron Parecki
yeah I was surprised! And Amazon even has some folks who are part of the OAuth working group too, but maybe just not on the Alexa team.

May I introduce you to the "metaverse" (ignore that it was coined by a company that changed their name to meta). Or maybe "synergy" is more to your liking?

    Dear TikTok/Short form creators.

Put the damn lavalier mic on your lapel where it’s supposed to be and stop waving it around in front of the camera.

Same goes for your ear bud microphone.

    Stop it.

    Kindly signed,

Teaching people how to use their gear "properly" is a losing battle at this point. I mean how do you think we ended up with vertical video?

Nope! I recently deleted it all and it freed up literally terabytes of space. In 6 years of YouTube, I've never once needed it after filming.

B roll is a totally different story, and I've found an archive to be priceless.
    Aaron Parecki
I've been keeping everything for now, but so far have never gone back to dig up the a-roll. I'm going to trash it all when I need the space. I've screencap'd a youtube video where I want to show that it was on youtube with the date and such. Agreed about b-roll tho.

    Aaron Parecki
oh it's bad. I refuse to leave the house unless I have *two* reasons. I will not go to only one grocery store. It has to be at least grocery store and take out the trash.

@aaronpk Gak, yeah, it's why I stopped doing gel because not only does it wreck your nails but is so time consuming

    Aaron Parecki
I first thought I'd let them just grow out naturally but then a month later they were starting to look messy and only 1/3 grown out and didn't want two more months of this.

So when I was a kid, we had HBO, and we had a VCR, and my dad diligently recorded what appeared to me to be every single movie playing on HBO until our entire hall closet was a movie library full of VHS tapes. It only occurs to me now to ask, was that normal?
    Aaron Parecki
I knew someone who did this too! I remember the many bookshelves of VHS tapes in his home office, looked king of like library shelves

Okay shiny black fingernails were fun but wow gel nail polish is really time consuming and messy to remove!

Is anyone up for convincing me that the HTTP accept header is a good idea?

I understand the theory: every resource should have the same URI, and should be able to deliver to clients in the format that they indicate they can best handle - eg an image served as WEBP to supporting clients but falling back to JPEG

But we have 20+ years of real-world experience with it now, and I'm not at all convinced that those theoretical benefits outweigh the drawbacks: mainly its lack of discoverability

    Aaron Parecki

Note to self: find out why my TSA pre check didn’t work on this flight. Taking ALL my camera gear out for inspection really slowed things down for everyone…
    Aaron Parecki
ugh ugh ugh. Yeah probably it was a full name vs partial name mixup. If you notice it's missing on your boarding pass sometimes you can get the ticket counter agent to fix it for you before security.

Similar position with @Delta - in terms of miles, the rollover alone was enough to reach Diamond 3 times alreadyπŸ˜…πŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽπŸ’Ž
But their spend requirement, $20K, will be VERY hard to reach.

Alaska was very nice to continue my 2019 status through 2020, 2021, and 2022 despite me flying less than would qualify for even the first tier, but alas I think my time as a top tier flyer has come to an end πŸ₯²
