To watch be sung or to sing. If the latter, we definitely need to hang out in person at one point so I can see this.

And fine, fine, I'll sing too lol
    Aaron Parecki
oh definitely to sing! That and Rammstein's Du Hast

https://matrix.itasoftware.com might have you covered, otherwise, FlightRadar24 does have the details if you have an account, similar ADS-B sites might have those options too though.

@aaronpk cannot believe I am going to say it. Google

    Aaron Parecki
do you know how to get Google to show you *all* inbound flights to a particular airport? I can't seem to get it to do anything unless I tell it where I'm traveling from.

people are even better at assuming YouTube gives a shit at all. just look at how they're dealing with the comment bots issue.

if you do a search you can see a lot of creators talking about this exact thing - they've also said shorts don't impact your channel's weight in the algorithm, and there's plenty of evidence to the contrary.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah I'm not convinced. People are good at finding patterns where there are none. I do wish YouTube would just tell us one way or the other though, it seems like it would benefit everyone to have a clear answer either way.

One year ago I started an experiment. I moved my live YouTube shows to a whole new channel, on the theory that the live shows on the main channel, which get great views while live but then very poor views after (which is understandable), were hurting the main channel. 1/🧡

what can happen though is a string of underperforming videos basically signals the algorithm that this channel just isn’t working. so a bunch of live streams could do that.

a string of SEO friendly videos that do very well could pop you out. don’t go for quantity.
    Aaron Parecki
I still believe that YouTube wouldn't be so ignorant to consider livestream performance the same as uploaded video performance. They even give you different metrics in the studio for each type so I don't think this is far fetched.

Ping @aaronpk, you were here recently, right?
    Aaron Parecki
I recently flew in to Austria and the only check for covid related docs was at the airport in the US before I boarded. Landing in Vienna was just a regular passport check.

So I assume that the good news then is that you got to go home, right? Again, great seeing you in Vienna!
    Aaron Parecki
Yes! The LHR-DFW flight was super delayed and I missed the DFW-PDX flight, so I had to stay overnight in Dallas and take another flight in the morning, but I eventually made it!

It was great seeing you in Vienna even if my conference experience was cut short!

That's insane... Not common, though, is it? this is the first time I have ever heard this reason for a flight to be delayed. normally it's a mechanical problem in my personal experience.
    Aaron Parecki
It's a huge flight, LHR-DFW, so presumably they lose more money if they have to reroute people who miss it vs the delays

You can even add your own custom dictionary and it does and ~okay~ job at matching words in that dictionary. I've filled mine with things like HDMI, ATEM, YoloBox, etc, so I spend only a few minutes correcting the auto transcript per video.

oh no are you kidding me... British Airways just straight up cancelled the LHR-SFO flight I booked for today. Now it's 2:45am and I am stuck on hold waiting to change my flight.
    Aaron Parecki
They hung up and now won't pick up the phone "due to excessive call volume".

The website doesn't have a "change" button, only a "cancel" button. Guess I'm just booking a new ticket.
