Thank you so much for recommending my videos, @keith51032020! I've been using @Wacom tablets in my teaching for about 10 years now and it's been a game-changer.

@aaronpk: I'd be happy to chat out strategies & share experiences as helpful!
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks, I just might take you up on that! Actually I'd love to have you on one of my livestreams to share some of your tips!

I agree it’s a solvable problem. YouTube scans every frame and every note. They can easily compare old to new, permit xx% change, permit change based on channel history, flag for human review questionable changes. And let us at LEAST change the video before it’s ever been public.
    Aaron Parecki
100% on these! Some % threshold changed would be reasonable. And definitely replacing an unlisted video before it goes public seems fine!

I was mainly pointing out that it's not as simple as people might think at first.

Not really, they could show a tab that displays the history of all the edits. People can go back and watch to see what changed and in turn add more watch time benefiting the algorithm.
    Aaron Parecki
I think you might underestimate the creativeness of people acting in bad faith on youtube. I agree it would be a great feature for legitimate creators, but unfortunately we have to consider the ways people would take advantage of it too.

The ability to re-upload a video without it losing the URL. This means if you made a mistake it can be corrected. Vimeo does this don’t understand why YouTube doesn’t implement this feature.
    Aaron Parecki
There's so many ways people could take advantage of this in terrible ways. That said, it seems like it could be a feature that gets unlocked if you meet certain criteria, channel age, monetization, copyright claims etc

I think that THE way to do this right now is to get an ATEM Mini ISO or Atem Mini Extreme ISO. That refers to ISOlated recordings of each channel. This is what I know @aaronpk does, and @Alexpettitt describes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn1MAfBQck8
    Aaron Parecki
the ATEM Mini ISO is probably the cheapest way to do this tbh. You can cobble it together in software with multiple capture cards but that's gonna be more fragile in the end, and not much cheaper either

paying for a netflix subscription and then also paying for a vpn to get region-locked stuff you're not supposed to have has got to be the weirdest form of piracy
    Aaron Parecki
I don't understand how the VPN company ads flat out state this as one of the reasons to use them, like surely that can't be legal?

Can you write on the screen for live?
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah sorta, my plan is to do a video tutorial explaining how. There are a few steps and I haven't quite got it all pieced together yet.

@aaronpk what one should I get? Draw on screen for live as well as control chat and graphic for photoshop and drawing in general?
    Aaron Parecki
I don't have much experience with those yet, but I just got the Wacom One to start experimenting!

And there it is… OK, do you know of a cheap hardware solution for this? Any of the BMD mini converters, perhaps? If you don’t know I’ll ask their support. Thanks!
    Aaron Parecki
as far as I've seen the $300 Decimator is the cheapest you'll get, unless your monitor has flip built in

We finally did it! @NotionHQ's text editor has been completely retooled to combine the flexibility of “blocks” with the familiar feeling of a traditional word processor. Congrats @jitl @jdan and @toolness!

I'm honestly surprised that noone protested before (or they did just nothing happened?). Then again: it took me months to contact support as well.
    Aaron Parecki
If my own development patterns are any indication... I put off migrating until the last possible second because who wants to do all that work a year in advance 😅 I suspect they're about to get a bunch of angry support emails soon

I believe you did. Here is an excerpt from the specification: https://www.oauth.com/oauth2-servers/access-tokens/access-token-response/

And here is your API reference: https://oauth.withings.com/api-reference/#operation/oauth2-getaccesstoken

    The two obviously don't match.

Also, I tried to send an email through your website and it didn't work (nothing happened).
    Aaron Parecki
lol yeah that's pretty bad, please don't ship this @Withings. That is not OAuth anymore, and it won't work with any OAuth libraries.

Looking at some of my old videos.

Partly proud that they still get views, and that I at least TRIED a few things that I thought would work.

Also spending time right now editing out those things (such as me embedding a "lut sale" for luts that don't exist anymore - sigh)
    Aaron Parecki
wonder if youtube would ever allow us to do our own dynamic ad inserts on our own videos 🤔
