@aaronpk I'm looking at buying a @FlexiSpot desk, similar to the one you have. Do you have a referral code I can use to support you?

Assuming it is North America, probably just tossed in there at some point. There were quite a few Home coupons and other paper inserts but not a floppy as best I recall.

I made a game called Cofounder Quest to find a new collaborator! I'm hiding the game on floppy disks all over the city in places where a software engineer is likely to stumble into it. ⚑️

    Enjoy,

Why does the music keep playing in the Twitter app after you close the in app browser! It's kind of delightfully calming, Twitter should always play midi tunes while scrolling

I tried several times to use my work email, but never received the email code. So I switched to trying to use my GitHub identity and would get that error.
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks. For some reason the email verification codes from my @Mailersend account are being silently dropped by some providers (I see a "delivered" notice in the logs for you)

Separately, I had messed up my GitHub+Auth0 integration so that wasn't working right.

There were some good speakers at the Okta Developer Day event, but when I went to log in today to attend the labs, the login was a disaster. Not a good look
    @OKTA

I had to bail on the labs, and I was really looking forward to it, too. #OKTAFAIL

Do you happen to have any ad blockers or other extensions installed in your browser?

That's really strange, i'm not sure how you ended up getting that error. Can you tell me more about which login option you used to hit that?

What’s the deal with YouTube premieres?

I remember people mentioning the feature tanking videos when it rolled out. Anyone have experience with this function lately?
    Aaron Parecki
I used it for a recent video and it was fun to chat with everyone in the live chat when it was playing! The video did fine too.

    Aaron Parecki
This picture is actually super misleading because of the camera lens effect... I'm actually taller than Bharat, so Vittorio is like twice our size put together πŸ˜…

Thanks for expanding beyond the poll.

I'm wondering if it isn't too much distributed for folks to actually get a grip on this? if I were joining a community and needed to follow on all of these mediums I'd probably get lost at some point
    Aaron Parecki
IMO it's the opposite. If a community has only one platform I end up overwhelmed by how much discussion is all in one place. Separating it out means you can tune in to just the conversations that are relevant.

I haven't used a slide clicker on my box for about a decade, since that one conference where I hopped on stage, installed the driver of the damn thing, and one of my demos broke (something abt DLLs used by both Office & VS).
I am going to give it another try, fingers crossed :P
    Aaron Parecki
the mistake was using a clicker that requires a driver! I <3 my logitech spotlight bluetooth clicker, tho I haven't had a reason to use it in the last 18 months 😭

I'm thinking about de-Googlifying some things! What email providers do you recommend?
    Aaron Parecki
I keep thinking about this too, but then the number of people who recommend Fastmail makes me a bit concerned that everyone is just moving over to Fastmail which doesn't really solve the underlying problem...

Plus the current server only has so much space alotted. And... compass sort of takes up space with logs. Can you rotate them, perhaps? After all, I wouldn't want to keep GPS data any longer than about seven to fourteen days, lets say.
    Aaron Parecki
Interesting, the whole point of it for me is that it's a permanent archive. The files aren't actually very big. There's no automated delete, but they'd be easy to delete manually since it's one file per day

@aaronpk, when setting up Compass, which is better, MySQL or Redis? Part of me wants to futz with Redis just to say I did on Widnows...
    Aaron Parecki
MySQL is required, I think it uses Redis just for caching or some stuff around the trip tracking part. I can't remember if it's required or not tho.
