Latest source of outrage on the Italians in Seattle group: this appalling piece- i really want it to be satire, but it doesn’t appear so 🤦🏻‍♂️
Most of those names are absurd and caused us to recoil in horror at the thought anyone could take this seriously.

wooowwwwwwwwww

"by the end of the trip, I was already speaking basic fluent Italian, which was quickly forgotten after leaving"

nope nope nope 👎 🙅‍♂️

@aaronpk nice. I had a fun conversation this week with my manager/editor about the word "glitch." Curious, how do you define it?

I've never thought about it much, I suppose "a minor or brief error"

I'm being overly simplistic, youtube is just TV for me, I don't use it as a social network.

But even here or insta, I'm very careful with who I follow or engage with. So many liers and trolls around and the internet has given everyone a voice. Gotta be careful what you listen to

I think it's a lot different approaching YouTube from the point of view of someone who makes videos on YouTube. In that case the comments are one of the only ways we have to interact with the people watching our videos.

After 11 years and over 2,000 students, today is my last day as a teacher. Very bittersweet, but I’m incredibly excited and grateful to have the opportunity to focus on YouTube full time.

Never in a million years did I think that’d be possible 🤯

Wow congrats! This is very exciting!

TMW you are googling something and the first result turns out to be an excerpt from one of your own books, but it takes a while to realize it because the look and feel of the page is totally unfamiliar :P

ah yes, the feeling of "oh finally someone wrote about the exact thing I'm searching for" followed by the disappointment of finding that it's your own work

Just taking her to the vet! She does seem to enjoy the ride though, I should take her out more often!

Aaron, as always appreciate your advice here and on YouTube. FWIW I ordered the T7 but decided to go with the @GlideGear TMP50 prompter, which looks like it may be a better fit and they're selling shockingly cheap as a manufacturer refurb https://ebay.us/HCwy2U

cool! Let me know how that turns out! I haven't seen the TMP50 in person.

I just really like "Zahnarzt" => tooth doctor. So descriptive.

I can give you lots more. With your phone number, it’s scary how much I can learn about you from the phone network. Your exact location, your home address…

I can listen in on your calls or sms without you knowing. Redirect calls and sms. Get your imsi.

🙈🙉🙊

I am actually intimately familiar with some of these APIs from the brief access I had to AT

The entire phone system was designed assuming that it was a closed system. Security was all physical. If you can connect, you must be authorized.

Opening it up and connecting it to the internet has created a wonderful mess.

I feel like we need to hold up this example when we talk about the zero trust model. Otherwise it sounds like we're just being paranoid.

This is the MF default for @Wise , though, which is insane.

it's less terrible if it's purely for multifactor, but a surprising number of places will use it as the only factor for account recovery

Anyway if you're wondering what you've been missing on Twitter, today Twitter started instantly autobanning anyone who said the word "Memphis" and did not figure out what had happened and fix it for like six hours
The entire time people were experimentally tweeting "Wait, do you really get banned if you say 'Memphis'?" and getting banned

I’m just glad my own website can’t ban me for saying Memphis

Many people celebrate DST. All rituals are very weird when you consider them! For example, gathering once a year to eat turkey is very weird. Stringing lights on a tree in the winter is weird. When traditions are popular or old, it doesn't make them more or less normal.

I have fond memories of the "hour that didn't exist" parties in the fall. Anything you did between the first 1-2am would be erased by the second 1-2am immediately following it
