@aaronpk I was wondering when I saw that photo! Pandemic mode makes me feel so out of touch with whatโ€™s new. I have bowled there and shopped there.

    Aaron Parecki
Yeah this was one of the few inessential places I've gone in the last year and yet still walked out with cleaning supplies and vegetables

@aaronpk Oh! That's the one that used to be the bowling alley, right?

    Aaron Parecki
It is! It was an Orchard Hardware after that. I do kind of miss being able to get random tools and screws nearby, but Target will be useful too

Looks interesting. My Cisco telepresence gear does that. But the Cisco stuff was a wee bit more than $200 and a lot harder to set up.
    Aaron Parecki
yeah this is like a baby version of that, but it's entirely plug and play, no drivers even

Two questions: whatโ€™s the gimbal-looking thing sitting on top of the left monitor?

That camera seems rather high up. Do you tend to look at the camera or the screen when presenting?
    Aaron Parecki
It's an OBSBOT camera, I've been trying it out, it follows your face around the room.

The DSLR is actually basically at eye level when I'm sitting down. I do decently well at looking into the camera while presenting except when I'm doing live coding.

Which 0-tracking privacy-first preferably self-hosted tool for managing #newsletters could you recommend? #indieWeb
    Aaron Parecki
Email newsletters? I ended up writing my own, it's still beta, a bit rough around the edges, but I'm running my own 500-ish subscriber newsletter from it. I'm going to open source it soon.

So I'm 2 days into making the switch from Google Analytics to @usefathom and I won't be looking back.

It's a win-win. Much easier-to-digest dashboard/UI for me, including nice, easy-to-implement goal tracking, and even better, privacy for those visiting my site.
    Aaron Parecki
I've been pretty happy with Fathom too. The one thing I miss is being able to see the referrers for a specific page on my site.

@aaronpk Aaron, Iโ€™ve learned so much from you. I note youโ€™ve used the small $70 @pergear prompter and also a Feelworld T7 monitor. Iโ€™m wondering if they can work together, but canโ€™t tell from reading specs if the monitor is too tall to fit the prompter. Have you tried the combo?
    Aaron Parecki
Kind of! It's definitely not meant for it, but it does kind of fit. I talked about it a bit during my livestream the other day: https://youtu.be/NU5_Rj27cTg?t=5279 (1:27:59)

Great one!! Already reached out to the UK guys. Can you tell more about the super short HDMI cables? And I would love to know more about using Companion to control two ATEMs over StreamDeck (maybe a YT video idea?). Best Tim
    Aaron Parecki
Those are the Monoprice slim HDMI cables! I have a ton of them. https://geni.us/4AuxqU

Controlling two ATEMs with Companion is pretty straightforward, but I will add that to my list!
