Atom content can be a MIME type. Carousels are a presentation option.

Don’t forget that RSS is by definition unable to evolve to include other richer post types than just blog posts. Atom you could start to shoehorn other things into by adding namespaces and such. But does anyone really want to keep writing XML?

Don’t forget posting things other than blog posts and text. You want to post a photo? Sure you could embed that in a blog post I guess. A video? now it’s getting tricky. Maybe use Atom enclosures? Posting multiple photos to be shown as a carousel like instagram?

Okay now we're getting somewhere. Likes I can do without. Some kind of support for discussion feedback is worth having, whether something from IndieWeb, or building off the original ping back servers, or a disqus-like thing. Yes, something beyond RSS/Atom but maybe not instead of

I stated my opinion. I'm not sure why RSS/Atom are insufficient when I see how many more moving parts are involved in IndieWeb. I'm not concerned with how that "looks". That's how I want it to look. If you give me better feedback than simply suggesting i go all in, that's welcome

I'm having trouble understanding why I would make the investment. I don't need to try it until I believe there's a reasonable chance at a payoff. I have too many other ways to spend my time.
