People always shocked when I order a hot black coffee when it’s hot summer outside. Can’t do iced coffee. Hot always.
    Aaron Parecki
Hot always! The trick is to heat up your insides enough so that the outside air feels cool again.

Now that I'm not using a laptop and dont have dual screens, I'm thinking about moving from my 27 inch monitor to an ultra wide.

    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Aaron Parecki
I love my LG 34" ultrawide (not curved)! https://geni.us/spdWSA2 It fits a very wide Resolve timeline nicely!

Saw your talk 'Oktane18: Using OAuth and OpenID Connect in Your Applications', it was good. Thank for uploading such excellent content.

Thanks! That feels like such a long time ago! I've got lots more good OAuth content on our YouTube channel now! https://youtube.com/oktadev

It’s weird, I’m so content with my camera setup right now for video I dont actually know what to spend my free time doing.

I used to spend all my time checking out forums, websites, and argue about cameras on twitter.

I feel lost....maybe I should buy an S1H to feel normal.

Not to spoil the ending of the video.

But this is the power of @nvidia NVENC.

Same 22 minute video rendered in the exact same settings, except one has NVENC and one is using software encoding.

NVIDIA provided me this graphics card.

Is this the PC build video that's gonna tip me over the edge and get me to build a PC finally?

Thanks! Just ordered. First non-kindle book that I’ve ordered in years.

This one really doesn't have the same effect on Kindle 😂

I keep having dreams where I'm out in the world and then I suddenly realize I'm not wearing a mask. Then I panic and try to find a mask. I have been having these dreams several times a week since March.

    Aaron Parecki
ME TOO! also this apparently is pretty common https://twitter.com/vibronet/status/1293694843428904961

Having a recurrent dream in which I am doing something in public, and suddenly realize I forgot to wear a mask. That was a FAST adaptation.

So much for the theory that “we tend to dream more often about fears and concerns that were relevant to our ancestors”
    Aaron Parecki
I HAVE HAD THIS DREAM TOO

Nice. They should be able to mix a totally neutral 18% grey, but that’s a good approach. I love me a nice blue-grey but if you’re gonna light it with colored LEDs or gels then yeah, total neutral would be good. Or, just paying it blue grey and not light it. That works too LOL
    Aaron Parecki
I still need to invest in some decent lights to actually light the background now! In the video I shot today it looks pretty much black.

That’s what I thought. Thanks. Nice, measured 18% or just something that looked middle-grey-ish at the paint store? I need to paint my new wall this weekend.
    Aaron Parecki
I did this with my studio, I brought the X-Rite Passport video to the paint store, asked them for their most neutral greys, then found a shade that looked extremely close to the middle grey chip. Some grey paints have colors so make sure to ask which ones aren't tinted.

@aaronpk Hi Aaron. I was over at the LiveVideoTech forum and was thinking of listing my ATEM Pro for sale, but am unable to create (b/c I am not level 3).

That’d make a good video… “my transition from FCPX to Resolve”
    Aaron Parecki
I just exported my second video from Resolve and now I’m tempted to make a video about switching from Premiere to Resolve. So far it’s been a pretty quick transition, and Resolve makes way more sense to me.

Man I just imagine people like a younger @imPatrickT being out of a job if we can just click a button and have all the blank spaces edited out.

I'd easily pay $1000 for a tool like that.
    Aaron Parecki
The worst part is this would be so easy to build, but BM is never gonna do it because did you hear how Grant talked about jump cuts in their latest announcement video? 😂

this is why scripting would be useful, easy to replicate. I winged this one and it was great but winging again will not produce the same result
    Aaron Parecki
Someone suggested to me once that I first record an off-the-cuff take, then transcribe it, edit, and then read off a teleprompter.

I haven't actually done that yet, I'm skeptical it would turn out the same, but I am tempted to try.
