if you turned off "Personalize ads" in your Twitter settings then maybe the ad isn't about you

I haven't visited this page in ages. This looks like one of those things where they added some checkboxes later and defaulted them to "on"

I've had some complaints that the Cam Link's latency is way higher than I report, hundreds of ms.
While USB chipsets definitely play a role, I just re-tested mine, on front-panel ports no less, and still 66ms here.
    Aaron Parecki
Do you happen to know if those reports are from people with dual core machines instead of 4+ cores? I've heard similar complaints about the ATEM Mini and am trying to track this down.

Sureโ€” and I practice the same, ish (that post came from my site), but platforms have increasingly closed down in ways that make POSSE less effective (by not allowing syndication).

On the creative side, very little seems as simple as say, building interesting Instagram Stories.
    Aaron Parecki
on the other hand, POSSE doesn't have to mean automatic POSSE. It's still a reasonable tactic to manually syndicate your content to platforms you care about that don't have an API.

True, that's one of the reasons I left facebook completely I guess.

There are a lot of specialized video editing apps though! That's one of the reasons for Micropub, so that you can share out of any app into any website.

In the IndieWeb world, you often sacrifice the wide distribution of social media. I feel like this is discussed a lot.

I donโ€™t see a lot of discussion of the loss of good creative tools. Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok all make it easy to create fun content to share.
    Aaron Parecki
I'm not sure what you mean, https://indieweb.org/POSSE is a pretty central part of a lot of people's setups as a way to stay connected to the wider social media world.

There are plenty of tools (Adobe, Apple Clips, etc) for creating media outside of social apps.

I had video once of a UPS driver walking up to my porch, slapping a โ€œsorry wrong missed youโ€ sticker on the door, and walking away. No attempt to deliver.
    Aaron Parecki
That's ... something. There must be a reason. Do they have a quota and they figure it's faster to slap that note on the door than wait for an answer or something?

Youโ€™ll have to excuse my ignorance, but Iโ€™m trying to grasp what IndieWeb is. At first glance it looks like Disqus, or maybe Geocities, or maybe webrings, or maybe a mix of all of those. Itโ€™s a little difficult to parse what it *is* from the lofty goals on the front page.

Smoky curry carrot sauce for upcoming meals. Sweated garlic, onions, and carrots in ghee, added cumin, ground chipotle, ground ginger, smoked paprika, curry powder, cinnamon, and simmered with a bit of water. Purรฉed with a splash of soy milk and Himalayaโ€ฆ https://instagr.am/p/CCUmvxspjUS/

Whoa this sounds amazing! Any tips for recreating it or basically just wing it with the list of ingredients you laid out?
