We love the @JeffBezos 2 Pizza Rule about team projects here at Deity. "If you can't feed your team with two large pizzas in a meeting, you're in trouble."

I'm building a new website tonight and I ordered myself 2 pizzas. That's how it works right?

I was arrested on June 2nd, 2020 with around 100 other protesters in Los Angeles. While I was ziptied and facing the wall, two male officers joked behind me about my gender presentation: "Do you think it's a female? Are you sure?"
    Aaron Parecki
This is awful, I’m so sorry. and thank you for speaking up.

Figured you could use a laugh right now. My latest recording session was comically frustrating. πŸ˜œπŸ€“

Well of course living smack in the middle of a city will most likely cost. I'm sure in a average neighborhood most could be per square foot is $80
    Aaron Parecki
yeah, totally depends on the city. in any case I'd start by asking friends in the area for recommendations of contractors, and keep getting referrals til you find a general contractor or builder who you can talk to.

Okay that's way for feasible than the 300 per Sq ft someone else said lol
    Aaron Parecki
permit fees, water and sewer hookup fees, city development charges, it all adds up. that's the price of building in the middle of a city 🀷

Doesn’t need to be a whole blog post! Just drop that Notion HTML export on a page on your site somewhere! πŸ˜„ https://aaronparecki.com/life-stack/

@NotionHQ how do I request a review for a page that was flagged as unsafe? I have a list of the gear I use for streaming shared (https://www.notion.so/jlengstorf/My-Livestreaming-Setup-9268f4e8e7fa4388bec915777735ad82) but it's been flagged as unsafe β€” these aren't even affiliate links, so I'm not sure what tripped the algorithm?
    Aaron Parecki
Gotta post this to your own website!

marcus.io Β· Making RSS more visible again with a /feeds page

    June 3rd, 2020

Personal website owners – what do you think about collecting all of the feeds you are producing in one way or the other on a /feeds page?

Sounds like a good idea! I’ll get on that.

This smashed Apple store has turned into a beautiful memorial.
    Aaron Parecki
I love it, but it's also a great way to protect the remaining unbroken glass panels. We don't know for sure, but those panels probably cost almost $500k each to replace.

When was the last time you backed up a copy of your posts from social media to a computer or disk you control?
    Aaron Parecki
All my social media posts originate from my website so I already have a backup before it's even on Twitter!

@aaronpk Hi Aaron! Thanks for the stream today. I believe you mentioned a Raspberry Pi Hyperdeck clone. Do you have a link to that? Would love to check it out.
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! It's still in the works, but I'll definitely feature it on my stream when it's announced!

Things I would miss dearly from MacOS if I did this.

    FCPX
    Screen shots
    Screen recording
    The Email App
    The Calendar App
    iMessage
    Aaron Parecki
as someone who decided to switch to windows just for video editing, I agree with this list.

Except for: screen shots, there's a print screen button!

iMessage and Airdrop mean so many more hoops to get stuff from my phone to my laptop

One of my old security teachers had a saying: treat everything you get from the client as toxic. Assume it’s false, malicious, and unsanitary until you can prove that it is not.
    Aaron Parecki
seriously! It's like one of the first things you learn when developing web apps. It's an embarrassing oversight frankly.

If you are a Facebook employee organizing collective action, do not use corporate laptops, phones, or apps! This includes Work Chat, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Communication between employees is not privileged. You signed this away in your employment contract.
    Aaron Parecki
holy crap, that even applies to using personal devices on company property.

which I guess isn't that significant right now but still.

I've been getting the weirdest Twitter ads today.
    Aaron Parecki
Same, and some of them are from really suspicious looking Twitter accounts. I haven't clicked, but I'm wondering if the sites they promote are some sort of tracking network. Kinda want to dig into this now.

"The email address however, should only be toggled between the user’s real address or the generated proxy address."

No, a user can have multiple "real addresses" in Apple world.
    Aaron Parecki
That's true, I noticed I have multiple me.com addresses on my account when I was making the screenshots and forgot to update this text to match. Still, the point is the same.
