I think @oredev could definitely be interested, maybe I could find interest within Bonnier News Tech as well (I know we're eg. evaluating some Okta stuff). I'm also still toying with the idea of an IWC in the area 🤔
    Aaron Parecki
Oh yeah I gave a talk at Øredev in like 2011! That'd be fun to go again!

I really should find you a reason one day to stop by Malmö/Copenhagen or Stockholm, especially now when you seems to be in Europe this often :)
    Aaron Parecki
Please do! Know any conferences that would like someone to come talk about OAuth? My talk from the last O'Reilly conference was a fun one!

@aaronpk only sad thing about Okta? They don't have any options availablefor open source developers.

    Aaron Parecki
not sure what you mean? The Okta product isn't open source, but plenty of people are making open source products using Okta. Most of the blog posts on our developer blog are open source sample apps too.

    #17 Dealing with Expiring Tokens

    Aaron Parecki
This sounds great, and to be clear, none of this is new behavior defined by Micropub or IndieAuth, it's all part of the existing OAuth 2.0 spec that IndieAuth is based on. We can call this out explicitly but we should not be defining any new normative behavior and instead just reference OAuth 2.0.

Random did you ever write about how you track your sleep? I’m thinking on writing a Fitbit bridge

    Aaron Parecki
I don't think I have! I wrote a Fitbit bridge for it though. It's not pretty.

A friend said something similar to this recently. It’s unfortunate but it’s like “React” (being a verb) or “Flow” (yet another verb). (https://v2.jacky.wtf/post/e5be0462-abbc-48ac-a314-7056a87e64f3)
    Aaron Parecki
Less bad than those IMO since micropubs seem to be a UK thing. I haven't heard that term in that context in the US or anywhere else really. But "react" is an actual word in the language.

it's always a good idea to see "unimplemented" show up in the query your browser is sending

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
