DANGIT! I had a reminder set to look when .dev got out of early access, but it's marked as "premium" and I can't justify that cost.
    Aaron Parecki
hey that's not a bad price for a single word! Some of the ones I was looking at were "premium" at $500/yr+

This is great! Ah, it makes so much sense — I am envious of how you always come up with cool hack projects. Frankly speaking, it’s surprising no social network explored this fun concept. Kudos!

    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! It was a fun project! It was also quite a lot of work to shoot all those photos, which is probably why more people haven't already done this.

I would call the next episode of Micro @Monday β€œAMA” (Ask Manton Anything), but β€œanything” is way too broad a parameter. But do let me know what questions about Micro.blog you have. @manton will do his best to answer them! (You can email me at jean@micro.blog, too.)

The map changes depending on where I am! I'm in Portland right now tho, and our river is kinda the same shape as that area maybe.

If someone had asked me a few months whether there were more dog people than cat people on Micro.blog, I would have said the former. But we have had a lot of adorable cats and almost no dogs lately….

Interestingly, on the Twitter copy of this post, it shows an image. However, that image is NOT a visible part of either this post or the article you linked to. Where is it coming from?
    Aaron Parecki
It's my "featured" image of the post. I originally used the picture at the bottom but it didn't look good small so I made a new one.

@aaronpk @manton2 the term Micropub is an awful one to use. Why? Because anytime I search the web for it, all I get are pubs and breweries. Please consider using a different term.
    Aaron Parecki
Sorry, it's been called Micropub since 2013 so not really possible to change now. You can try adding additional keywords to get better results: W3C, API, IndieWeb, or any programming language, etc.

Aaron you do not need any more monitors.

πŸ‘ I always forget what a luxury it is to not be constrained by physical space.

I just built a VM server with a NUC which I'm very pleased with, it was $1k, 32gb, 1tb ssd, 2tb hd, i9, but my main goal was that it should disappear into my desk

That's actually one of our MacBook Pros I've got connected there :) but yes, the hardware power of a Linux or Windows based custom build is like half of the cost of that laptop.

The new monitors are here!!! Can't wait to hook them up to my new PC custom build in a couple weeks, but for now I can still use a couple with my laptop. Middle monitor is a 27" Dell UltraSharp 4k. 😎 I am STOKED!

I’m really happy to see all the new microcasts being launched! But I’m starting to run out of toaster ovens. πŸŽ™

    Aaron Parecki
You should encourage them to add their microcasts to https://microcast.club! We need some new content there!

This afternoon's Pixlemator Pro Live Training has been cancelled as I needed to extend my stay in Austin. I will however still release it on Saturday morning as usual. If you were planning to watch live, DM me and I'll issue you a free coupon to view it on the site. Sorry!
    Aaron Parecki
How long are you going to be in Austin? I'm going to be there this weekend! Maybe we can grab coffee!

@aaronpk I thought for a second you were using the Ipad that is the zoom room controller as a second screen. That would have been neat.

    Aaron Parecki
    There's so many screens here.

Do you recognize the desk? ;-)
