Signed up for gigabit internet service, finally. Installation by end of month! A bit disappointing that the upstream is only 35 Mbps, but honestly, gigabit downstream makes me feel like I'm living in the gosh-darned future.
"Only" 35mbps! You could run your website off of that no problem! In fact I bet you'll have trouble finding anything that can accept data at that rate anyway. When I had 900mbps down and 700mbps up i couldn't use it all anyway! -

Reading over the WebMention spec recently seems unfortunate it requires POST requests - if it used GET static sites could just scan HTTP server logs for mentions. https://www.w3.org/TR/webmention/#receiving-webmentions
Static sites can already scan HTTP server logs for mentions. Webmention enables the sender to notify the receiver immediately instead of waiting for someone to click the link, and also enables static sites to offload receiving to an external service like https://webmention.io -

I use the Samson XPD1 lav mic for recording my own talks. 2.4GHz mic, with a receiver that outputs USB. Might be handy for your setup.
Nice! What do you record into then? An app on your computer? Would love to hear your experiences recording your own talks, that's something we're trying to work on. -

I definitely want to do something like this to support private content, the trick is defining it in a way that makes sure I won't accidentally share subscriptions with tokens between users. Right now Watchtower will group fetches of a URL and deliver to multiple subscribers, so I'll need to ensure that grouping also takes into account the auth tokens.

Generally, 404 isn't enough to assume the author intended to delete, so I still display them. If you want to actually delete a webmention, then 410 is the better approach. See also: https://indieweb.org/deleted
