Hm, okay good point. But hosting on other people's sites is a loss of control isn't it?
@samwilson We have that with simple web hosting but lost it with the rise of Twitter/Facebook/etc -

The #indieweb is all about hosting things yourself, but actually I find doing so to be enormously stressful. Sysadmin-ing is a profession.
@samwilson The #indieweb is all about owning your identity and being in control. You don't have to self-host to do that!

No, and I use my keyboard constantly. Have had my computer over 2 years now. Command button is fine. Do you use lotion?
@nahbois Nope, but this has happened to every computer I've owned! It just occurred to me that maybe everyone else doesn't have this happen -

@siliconflorist @matto I tried charging $5 to get the dropout rate lower, didn't work. Raised to $10 and still had only 65% turnout.

I have a 2m/70cm radio right now. I'm interested in HF but I think that's a longer-term project, probably not until I live somewhere I can mount an antenna on my roof. (My apartment building wouldn't like that very much!) -

Attempting an Instant Pot hot sauce recipe tonight! • 2 cups cherry tomatoes • 2 carrots • 1 small onion • 1.5 cups habaneros • 4 cloves garlic • 1 cup rice vinegar • 1 cup water • 1/2 cup Mustard • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum Chop the carrots, onion, garlic and habaneros. They don't have to be super fine. Sauté the onions in the instant pot until translucent. Add everything and set to high pressure for 4 minutes. Let the pressure come down naturally, or you'll get a room full of capsaicin and you will regret it. Blend with an immersion blender. Notes on the outcome of this recipe will follow!
Update! This turned out really good, it just doesn't have quite enough heat! The vinegar and liquid ratio was great though. next time I think I'll just double the habaneros! -

Yeah, CAPTCHA can be indeed annoying sometimes but security is above all.
@namecheap I've been hit with this while buying a domain the past 3 days in a row, and this time happened twice in the same checkout! -
I'm with you in that running this stuff in a browser makes me uneasy, although between https and actually trusting Agile Bits, I've launched the 1password web app on a couple of occasions. The vast majority of my use of 1password is their desktop and iOS apps.
The security of their ecosystem is written up in a PDF whitepaper, which is a good read: https://1password.com/teams/white-paper/
tl;dr your master password is never sent to Agile Bits, and they have no way of decrypting the data on their servers. -
