It’s incredible to think that we all basically have the same computers, but we all do different things with them.
    Aaron Parecki
@joshhighland What's crazy is when I try to use someone else's phone/computer it feels like a completely different thing!

@aaronpk I've always wanted to try out a project with a Raspberry Pi. Enjoying reading about your HAM project, sharing.
    Aaron Parecki
@jessiegentry I'm looking forward to experimenting more! If you make a ham radio website let me know so I can follow what you do too!

The #FlickrFriday challenge this week is "long exposure", I guess 204 seconds should be enough. I went down to the beach to take a nice photo of the "cold bath house" or Kallbadhuset here in Varberg.

    Aaron Parecki
That's great! I was curious what ISO setting was used, but it's not in the EXIF summary, I had to click to show the full EXIF to see it.

You actually want that running on port 53, because DNS is always open!
    Aaron Parecki
I might have to give that a try too. Tho I have seen some hotspots run their own DNS server and block outgoing DNS requests. Certainly no harm running SSH on both ports.

I really need an SSH server running on port 443 so I can tunnel everything on overly-restrictive wifi hotspots.
    Aaron Parecki
I just realized I have a server that's not using port 443 right now, and was able to get in from the Linode web interface and set it up! \o/

The html includes the URL as well as the t.co link it's in spans inside the a with class invisible, as well as in data-expanded-url
    Aaron Parecki
ah you're right. I don't think the tweet page shows the full contents of quoted tweets though. This way I end up with an h-cite with the full-res version of the quoted tweet. I also get the author data and timestamp info from the person who RT'd a tweet this way.

Anyone experimented with using webmention to capture pings from, e.g. data journalism, back to open datasets? https://www.w3.org/TR/webmention/

@ldodds Not sure if this is quite what you mean, but worth a read: http://lombardpress.org/2016/04/16/iiif-webmentions/

Almost none, but still some; might selfhost =) Like the distributed concept, would like to see more usage! https://lwn.net/Articles/708151/
    Aaron Parecki
@joelpurra The OpenID team has deprecated OpenID 1 and is now pursuing OpenID Connect which is actually built on OAuth 2.0 as well.

@joelpurra I like the concept too! My goal with #indieauth is to use domains as identities (like OpenID) but using OAuth 2.0 techniques.

Will consider #indieauth, but negatively angled "why not #openid" info had (has) me thinking otherwise https://indieweb.org/OpenID
    Aaron Parecki
@joelpurra There also seem to be almost no OpenID providers left except indieauth.com, since myopenid shut down.

@joelpurra Well I would never suggest anyone use OpenID 1 for anything new, but I can see how that's confusing. Will see if I can rephrase.
