could be, but what's odd is it works locally, but not on the server.
    Aaron Parecki
@luxagraf hmm, could be misconfigured redirect URI settings then? Try making a new app with credentials you only use for production

python. flickrapi package. used to work really well, but for some reason it doesn't anymore.

@luxagraf Flickr launched OAuth 1 not that long ago, before it was their own thing. Could be the library hasn't updated for that?

It's simple enough if someone is around for redirects and auth codes, harder when it's an automated script.
    Aaron Parecki
@luxagraf Yeah, you'll want to set up a page that can generate an access token for you. Some services like GitHub provide this built in.

thanks. I like @t's "dont't hate, go create", but what if you can't because all the oauth libs are outdated and suck?
    Aaron Parecki
@luxagraf For any OAuth 1 service, just use the service's API client and you'll be fine. The old OAuth 1 libs still work fine usually too.

@luxagraf OAuth 2 is simple enough you don't need a library, I have a simple guide here https://aaronparecki.com/2012/07/29/2/oauth2-simplified

There are lots of reasons the #IndieWeb faded, but I think OAuth deserves quite a bit of blame.

@luxagraf Sorry you couldn't make it to IndieWeb Summit, but here's recap post and videos! http://tantek.com/2016/190/b1/state-of-indieweb-summit https://aaronparecki.com/2016/06/18/7/indieweb-summit-videos

@veganstraightedge Do you have any guidelines on a color scheme we could use? The current IWC colors are super bold, so we'd need some sort of matching lighter color scheme to add to the branding guidelines.

I've tried and failed many times to get a GPS fix since then. Figured the metal fuselage blocked signals. But ok!
    Aaron Parecki
@geeknixta @williamscraigm I regularly track GPS on flights. Most of the time only get a signal at a window seat: https://aaronparecki.com/flights

iOS developer friends: what is a good resource that explains the requirements for doing secure OAuth2 in an iOS app?
    Aaron Parecki
@beaugunderson Your best best is to not use the client secret, and redirect to the app's registered protocol handler. Or dynamically generate a client secret when the app first launches (unique to each app). Sounds like this would be a good blog post.

Thank you for describing the blockchain without using the words "decentralized" or "distributed." This makes me much more likely to be interested in your further thoughts and experiments with it! Looking forward to reading more from you about this in the future!
