    Aaron Parecki
@known.kevinmarks.com kind of... the syntax is very limiting though, since you have to invoke the application by its name. "Alexa, tell Loqi to ____" doesn't have quite the same feeling.

@jeena No worries. It seems to be using the principles of indieweb, so I wondered if you bumped into any users that way.
    Aaron Parecki
@sikkdays @jeena You should ask @benwerd and take a look at his site which is using Known: http://werd.io

@aaronpk There is a conflicting info in http://aaronparecki.com/communication-protocols and http://aaronparecki.com/contact. Do you prefer Twitter over IRC?
    Aaron Parecki
@BikelandiaNet Good point! I will fix that. Twitter is fine. :-)

@schock That is actually crucial feedback. You're right, and #indieweb should probably move away from that language.
    Aaron Parecki
@benwerd FWIW #indieweb never adopted it as a generic term, it was only used in a 2011 session name and two specific projects. cc @schock

@aaronpk I like the flash briefing and weather stuff. Music is pretty nice too though sometimes it doesn't understand me
    Aaron Parecki
@AmbassadorAwsum ah I forgot about the weather! I do like that too!

@aaronpk What is the kind of thing you are skeptical of for a Voice driven OS?
    Aaron Parecki
@skyler Amazon limiting the vocabulary to a small set of things really helps cut down the error rate, but I still manage to have it mis-hear me quite a lot. Also many tasks are too complicated to do by voice, and are easier done with a good physical interface. I am excited to be able to try out living with a voice interface for a while though!

    Aaron Parecki
@davidmead Yeah the @ifttt channel is disappointingly limited and leads to hacks like that. I'm sure more apps will develop integrations for it soon tho. In the mean time, with the SDK it's possible to make arbitrary commands for it which is pretty neat!

@aaronpk Sweet. I talked about this with @jburrows -- I honestly believe that a voice OS evolution is going to be very important, very soon.
    Aaron Parecki
@skyler @jburrows I am very skeptical of voice interfaces in general, but for the limited set of things I've used it for, it's quite nice.

As of at least iOS 8.3, GPS works when in Airplane Mode! Let's go hiking! No more signal searching induced battery drain #iOS #CoreLocation
    Aaron Parecki
@ericito ahhh this is great! Which hardware? It used to work in airplane mode on the iPhone 4 because it was a physically separate GPS chip. With the 4S they moved to a GPS chip that was part of the GSM chip, which is why airplane mode also disabled GPS. #iOS
